Is it better to pick a blue ninja, or a yellow ninja? A character who can teleport, or a character with two teleports? Seriously, though, the "MK" cast is massive and diverse, with plenty of great options for any player or fan. There are so many such choices, in fact, that the best option may be to let the stars decide — selecting a fighter based on personality and astrological compatibility. Here are the mainline "Mortal Kombat" characters most closely aligned to each sign, and which one you're closest to according to the zodiac.
Aries: Johnny Cage
As a Hollywood movie star (who is based on Jean-Claude Van Damme), Johnny Cage is bold, braggadocious, and self-important. However, he's also a fiercely brave, loyal person who has put his life on the line time and time again throughout the "Mortal Kombat" series to protect his friends and his home of Earthrealm. Johnny Cage can be rather brash, getting himself into dangerous situations without having a way to get out, and his smart mouth and penchant for trash talk have gotten him in hot water many times.

Gemini: Noob Saibot
One of the most important characters in all of the "Mortal Kombat" mythology is Bi-Han, a vicious warrior of the Lin Kuei assassin clan and the original Sub-Zero. A loyal ally and trusted companion, Kung Lao does things the right way, and he backs up his decisions with research, intuition, and extensive practice.
Libra: Sonya Blade
No one in the "Mortal Kombat" universe values justice more than special forces operative Sonya Blade. One of the original characters from the very first "MK" arcade game, Sonya is a protector of the highest degree — a fierce warrior driven by her desire to attain peace. As those born between September 23 and October 22 will know, those are textbook Libra traits, and Sonya embodies the air sign in many ways.

Sagittarius: Scorpion
Despite his name, Scorpion falls far more accurately into the Sagittarius sign — November 22 and December 21 — than that of Scorpio. At first, the pairing might seem odd. Isn't Scorpion a killer driven by little more than revenge? Well, that's certainly how his story starts, but there's far more to the fiery ninja than his various vendettas. The sad truth of Scorpion is that he spends much of the early "Mortal Kombat" story being manipulated by various nefarious forces, like Netherrealm's evil sorcerer Quan Chi. When it comes to Sagittarius wanderlust, no one is more guilty than a literal wayward soul. Scorpion has visited many different realms throughout the "MK" movies and games, learning new abilities and growing in wisdom along the way. This is shown beautifully in the 2021 "Mortal Kombat" movie, in which, after centuries of torment in the fires of the Netherrealm, Scorpion rises with those same fires under his control. Who other than a Sagittarius could travel to hell itself, only to learn something productive from the experience? Of course, there should then be no doubt that the yellow-clad warrior is a fire sign.
Capricorn: Jax
Sonya Blade isn't the only notable special forces operative in the Mortal Kombat universe, and while her associate and close friend Jackson Briggs shares her passion for justice, he's more closely attuned to the Capricorn sign — December 22 and January 21 — than that of Libra. There's no question that Jax, with his massive cybernetic arms and ability to create minor groundquakes, would be an earth sign, and he fits nicely into the tenth zodiac for other reasons as well.
