  • Matt has been obsessed with movies his whole life. He has written about movies for nearly ten years.
  • Through his work at, he has covered horror and geeky film festivals and conventions throughout the country, such as the Telluride Horror Show, Wizard World Comic Con, and C2E2, among others.
  • He also wrote, directed, and produced the feature film, "Take Back the Knife" which received worldwide distribution and can be found on several streaming platforms.


Matt is a writer and filmmaker based in Chicago. He fell in love with movies, particularly horror movies, at a very young age. He turned his lifelong obsession into a career when he began writing film reviews, event coverage, and indie horror news for in the 2010s. During that same decade, after making several short films that screened all around the country, Matt wrote, directed, and produced the feature film, "Take Back the Knife," which was released in 2016. He loves trashy television and is devoted to the consumption of all things pro wrestling. He can often be found at Chicago bars, flexing his need to perform through the art of karaoke.


Matt attended Columbia College in his favorite city on Earth — Chicago. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Video, with a concentration in directing.
