How To Unlock Rideable Pokemon In Pokemon Legends: Arceus

"Pokemon Legends: Arceus" may be missing a number of famous Pokemon, but the game has garnered rave reviews from critics and gamers alike. The title, which acts as a prequel to the sprawling franchise, has re-introduced the world to "Pok´mon" lore and put its own stamp on the series. But it doesn't just offer nostalgia — "Pokémon Legends: Arceus" also offers players unique opportunities that they've never had before.

One of the most notable new features comes in the form of an all-new method of transportation. While previous Pokémon games have allowed players to use their captured Pokémon to fly or surf from place to place, "Pokémon Legends: Arceus" offers players the ability to mount their Pokémon and ride them around the countryside to their heart's content. Though there are some caveats to this feature in relation to completing one's Pokedex, it's a fun addition that is sure to provide immense entertainment to anyone wishing to use it. And here's all you need to know in regards to unlocking and using these particular monsters in "Pokémon Legends: Arceus."

Rideable Pokémon must be unlocked through quests

While the prospect of majestically galloping through the plains atop your favorite Pokémon is something many players will be anxious to experience quickly, rideable Pokémon are only available to players upon completing certain quests in "Pokémon Legends: Arceus". In order to have this option available, one must first complete "The Frenzy of the Lord of the Woods" main story quest, which then unlocks the Celestica Flute. Upon this achievement, the player can summon a rideable Pokémon of their choosing by using this unlocked item.

There is, however, a catch to this. These ridable Pokémon that players can mount don't act as traditional Pokémon — they aren't available to catch and add to one's roster of battling creatures, nor does riding one count towards completing one's Pokedex. Instead, these mountable creatures act simply as vehicles and a means to get from point A to point B in style, so don't be expecting to ride these Pokémon into battle the same as you would a noble steed.

As of right now, five Pokemon are available to use in this capacity: Wyrdeer, Usaluna, Basulegion, Braviary, and Sneasler. Each of these mountable Pokemon are unlocked via the completion of further quests after receiving the Celestica Flute.
