Experience

After humble beginnings blogging about women's wrestling for the Professional Wrestling Studies Association, Allyssa decided to shoot her shot as a freelance writer in 2021. She cut her teeth writing features for WhatToWatch.com and video essay scripts for "The Take" on YouTube. In addition to her work at /Film, she was published by Catapult Magazine. Allyssa was a panelist at the Midwest Pop Culture Association annual conference in 2016 and C2E2 in 2017, discussing American women's wrestling at both events. She was a top 10 semi-finalist in the 2021 Medium Writers Challenge. She is also an award-winning radio host in college, being awarded "Best Newscaster" and "Best Pop Music Show" twice by her peers. Education

Allyssa earned her bachelor's in journalism from DePaul University. She minored in radio, TV, and new media.
