Donny is a professional writer from Philadelphia based in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. He earned his B.A. in Visual Media and Minor in Cinema Studies & Literature from American University, where he served as a staff writer, columnist, and Entertainment Editor for the student newspaper, The Eagle. He then moved to New York City to pursue his M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He concentrated in screenwriting and television writing and earned the department award for Outstanding Achievement in Screenwriting. Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles and landed his first job as the Assistant to the Executive Producer of ABC’s GENERAL HOSPITAL. After shadowing in the writers’ room, he was promoted to the writing staff and wrote a script every week for three years, winning a WGA Award for his work along the way. Most recently, he was a semi-finalist in the 2022 WGAW TV Writer Access Project, a program designed to identify and provide increased access to writers from underrepresented groups.
