Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina Character Photos Introduce Teen Horror's Cast

Something wicked this way comes — the cast of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Off the back of the first official trailer for its upcoming teen horror drama, Netflix released a batch of photos that introduce us to the series' collection of kooky and creepy characters.

E! Online shared the carousel of snaps, which kicks off with lead actress Kiernan Shipka as the half-mortal, half-witch high school student Sabrina Spellman who is on the cusp of turning 16. (The trailer for Chilling Adventures teased this celebration with a candle-covered cake and an eerie rendition of "Happy Birthday to You.")

The picture that follows features Ross Lynch as Harvey Kinkle, the brunette with a boy-next-door vibe and an air of oblivious innocence that's kind of heartbreaking considering how much danger lurks in the shadows of Greendale. Per the Netflix-issued description, Harvey is "the prince charming of this dark fairy tale," a coal miner's son, a "dreamboat and a dreamer" who is "completely unaware of the dark forces conspiring to keep him and Sabrina apart."

Next up, we see Sabrina's friends Rosalind Walker, played by Jaz Sinclair, and Susie Putnam, portrayed by Lachlan Watson, sitting together at a table in what looks like a cafe. With Sabrina, the "brash, empowered, and outspoken" minister's daughter Rosalind and the "brave and optimistic" farm girl Susie form the WICCA club at Baxter High. And though one would think that Sabrina is the odd one out of the trio, Susie actually has something in common with Sabrina: she faces a "terrifying supernatural threat at home." Dun-dun-duuun!

At her home, Sabrina lives with her nurturing, warm, and motherly aunt Hilda (Wonder Woman's Lucy Davis) and her proud, devout aunt Zelda (Miranda Otto). While Hilda brews "spite jars against her family's enemies" and concocts "love potions for the students at Baxter High," Zelda keeps a watchful eye over Sabrina and her English warlock cousin Ambrose (Chance Perdomo) to ensure that the whole family properly serves the Dark Lord as members of the Church of Night.

Elsewhere in Greendale, there's Sabrina's teacher and mentor Ms. Wardell (Michelle Gomez), who turns into the "sultry, cunning manipulator" Madam Satan when she's possessed by the Devil's handmaiden; the strapping warlock and Academy of Unseen Arts student Nicholas Scratch (Gavin Leatherwood), who instantly has sparks with Sabrina, as he has followed her father's teachings; the High Priest of the Church of Night and Dean of the Academy of the Unseen Arts Father Blackwood (Richard Coyle), whose hidden motives cause him to clash with Sabrina; and the Weird Sisters Agatha (Adeline Rudolph), Prudence (Tati Gabrielle), and Dorcas (Abigail Cowen), a group of witches who bully Sabrina for her mixed-blood identity.

These photos do an excellent job of getting potential viewers acquainted with the Chilling Adventures crew, but more than that, they demonstrate that the series will look and feel different to Riverdale, its sister show that also utilizes Archie Comics characters and adapts famous storylines. Though Riverdale does get dark and crazy, with fathers murdering their own sons and teenagers dumping dead bodies in the woods and whatnot, Chilling Adventures is bound to push things even further, diving into witchcraft, the occult, and a bit of Satanism — you know, for good measure.

If that description and these new pictures catch your fancy, dig into Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix on October 26.
