Who Plays Doc Antle On Joe Vs. Carole?

Few documentaries have left a cultural impression on the same level as "Tiger King" has in recent years. As such, it was inevitable that Hollywood would get in on the action and dramatize the real-life feud between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin, as depicted in the Netflix series that debuted back in March 2020. In fact, Peacock is now gearing up for the release of "Joe vs. Carole" on March 3, which will chronicle the life of Exotic, the owner and operator of an Oklahoma-based big cat preserve, whose feud with Baskin escalates to such a degree that it nearly ends in death.

Peacock has cast a fantastic assortment of performers to bring these eclectic characters to life, with "Saturday Night Live" veteran Kate McKinnon playing Baskin and "Shrill" actor John Cameron Mitchell stepping in for Exotic. Another notable figure who will appear in "Joe vs. Carole" is none other than Bhagavan "Doc" Antle, a guru-like zoo owner and mentor to Exotic who has been brought up on criminal charges of his own since the release of the Netflix docuseries. With a fictionalized version of Antle set to appear in "Joe vs. Carole," let's take a look at the actor behind the character.

Damien Garvey is an Australian actor with numerous film and TV credits

Australian actor Damien Garvey is the performer who will bring Doc Antle's character to life in "Joe vs. Carole." Per his IMDb profile, it appears he will only show up for one of the eight episodes in the Peacock limited series. An actor with an extensive list of film and television credits, Garvey got his start in the late 1990s, making his first on-screen appearance in the Australian TV series "Medivac" (also known as "Adrenalin Junkies"). From there, he has gone on to work consistently across the Australian and American film industries, with roles on "Rake," "Underbelly," "McLeod's Daughters" and more. Beyond his acting, Garvey is also a former musician, having released two albums in the late 1980s with the Australian rock band, Neighbourhood Unit.

Some of Garvey's most notable roles to date include a two-episode stint as Mr. Roper on "Ash vs Evil Dead," as well as his role as Tom Boylan in "Terra Nova" and his role as Chief Yarborough on HBO's "The Leftovers." One of his most consistent roles is that of Stan in the Guy Pearce-fronted "Jack Irish" series of TV shows and made-for-TV movies.

Audiences can catch Garvey as Doc Antle in the first episode of "Joe vs. Carole" when it debuts on Peacock on March 3.
