The Untold Truth Of Dr Disrespect's New Warzone Partner

Dr Disrespect has been having a rather tumultuous few months, thanks to the mysterious ban from Twitch that has affected his notoriety and restricted him from gaming with many of his old associates. As a result, he was recently forced to cross platforms to find a partner for Vikkstar's Warzone Tournament, which is ongoing. He and his new partner have been occasionally dominant and have provided some pretty spectacular moments for watching fans, who say the two have good chemistry together. Dr Disrespect's new partner goes by the moniker ZLaner, and he's a Facebook Gaming partner who also appears to have deals with GFuel and SCUF Gaming

ZLaner's actual name is Zack Lane. He's a young 20-something based in Canada. This streamer has clearly been leveraging time in the spotlight and seeing his online profile get more visible. On Sept. 2, 2020, he posted stream stats to Instagram that showed he had now received almost 2 million views and more than 20,000 peak viewers that day. He thanked Facebook Gaming and Dr Disrespect for "giving a kid a shot," saying, "Today was the craziest day of my life. To the fans, I love you for allowing me to live my childhood dream."

But who is this guy, exactly? And what's the truth about ZLaner?

ZLaner got his start a couple of years ago on Fortnite

ZLaner has been streaming on Facebook Gaming since July 2018. He first made his name playing Fortnite, gaining a modest following playing the battle royale game. He's been competitive but not dominant in the pro Fortnite scene: his recognitions have included 43rd place in a 2019 Fortnite World Cup North America East competition and 37th in a Fortnite Champion Series Season 2 Chapter 2 event in 2020. In February 2020, he celebrated the fact that he'd racked up his 4,000th win in the title.

However, he started moving away from Fortnite in early 2020 and has since developed a clear streaming preference for Call of Duty: Warzone, which he plays almost exclusively today. He now boasts more than 400,000 followers on his Facebook Gaming page and 60,000 subscribers on his YouTube page. While he remained consistently in the five-figure range with his Fortnite videos, his more recent Warzone videos regularly get hundreds of thousands of views. His channel has certainly grown in a short period of time.

His recent Warzone achievements may help his star rise

Moving to Call of Duty: Warzone might just have been the right move for ZLaner. His audience got bigger, and perhaps that's what gained him the attention of higher-profile players like Dr Disrespect. But the switch has also been good for his bottom line. ZLaner racked up a gigantic win at the ROKKR Royale Warzone Tournament with partners Shmfuhny and HusKers. Together, the three took a first place prize worth $45,000 on Sept. 30, 2020. They beat out 34 other trios during the one-day event, some of which contained names you know, like Tfue

And he's also making a pretty big splash as Dr Disrepect's partner. Gamers have been commenting in multiple places about what fun the two are to watch and what great partners they make. In a Reddit thread, players remarked upon the positive dynamics of the partnership and pointed out, as user BluesVFX did, "Looks like the Doc is actually having fun again."

ZLaner's numbers continue to go up as a result of the collaboration. On Sept. 11, 2020, he thanked fans on his Twitter feed for getting him up to 10K followers, but he's already doubled that in the three weeks since then. As of Oct. 2, 2020, his follower count stood at roughly 21,600. He's definitely going to be one to watch in the future.
