Men In Black Spin-Off Title Reportedly Revealed

Here come the Men in Black, apparently with a new title in tow.

According to Collider, the forthcoming Men in Black spin-off movie isn't simply titled Men in Black. The outlet's editor-in-chief Steve Weintraub discovered that the film, led by Thor: Ragnarok co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, is actually be called Men in Black International

Weintraub came across the information while walking the floor at Brazil Comic-Con (also known as Comic-Con Experience Brazil), where Sony Pictures is scheduled to give a presentation on Saturday, December 8. Sony hasn't confirmed that Men in Black International is the official title of the reboot spin-off flick, but we wouldn't be surprised if it is based on what we already about the film.

Directed by F. Gary Gray (The Fate of the Furious, Straight Outta Compton) and written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum (Iron Man, Transformers: The Last Knight), the flick is billed as a "contemporary sci-fi pic about the black-clad secret force that protects earth from the alien scum of the universe" and will center on Hemsworth's Agent H and Thompson's Agent M. Its story is said to see the two agents (and various other new characters) hunting down villains in several different locations, putting the film on "more of a global scale" than the previous Men in Black movies, which starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Additionally, a major player in the movie is Liam Neeson's character — the head of the Men in Black organization in London.

All that considered, a title like Men in Black International fits perfectly in line with the feel and focus of the movie.

On the flip side, maybe the "international" of the purported Men in Black International title isn't genuinely part of its name. Perhaps it's a tie-in to Sony's marketing for Brazil Comic-Con, given that the convention takes place overseas. However, Collider has time and again proven a trustworthy source in the past, so it seems more likely than not at this point that Weintraub's scoop is legit and that the film truly is titled Men in Black International.

Joining Hemsworth and Thompson for the new Men in Black movie are Rafe Spall and Rebecca Ferguson, as well as Emma Thompson as Agent O, Kumail Nanjiani as Pawny, and Davina Sitaram as Clubber. The film is due out on June 14, 2019.
