The Predator Trailer Teases Deadly Upgraded Creatures
If you want to take down the universe's most lethal hunters, you'll have to be more than just fast, fearless, and fiercely intelligent.
After months of holding out, leaving fans practically chomping at the bit for some first-look footage, 20th Century Fox has unveiled the first teaser trailer for director Shane Black's The Predator, the hotly anticipated reboot of the lauded sci-fi thriller film series.
Packed to the back, front, and sides with action and tension, the Predator teaser sets up the film's basic premise: an alien aircraft crash-lands on Earth, and a scrappy but skilled team of mercenary-assassins ventures to identify the extraterrestrial creatures that came skittering out of the crash site. What follows is a high-stakes government probe, drippy monsters rearing their multi-fanged heads in otherwise-peaceful neighborhoods, and a chilling discovery: the hunters are "attempting hybridization" by upgrading their genetic codes on each planet they visit (and ravage, of course).

Here's the official synopsis for The Predator: "From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black's explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe's most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter, and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race."
The Predator stars Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan) as ex-Marine and Special Forces commando Quinn McKenna, Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse) as scientist Casey Bracket, Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight) as fellow former Marine Nebraska Williams, Jacob Tremblay (Room) as Quinn's son Rory McKenna, and Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter, The Handmaid's Tale) as Quinn's ex-wife Emma McKenna. Topping off the cast are Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica, Blade Runner), Jake Busey (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Augusto Aguilera (Chasing Life), and Niall Matter (Watchmen).
