The Fast And Furious Character You Are Based On Your Zodiac Sign

2001's "The Fast and the Furious" launched a seemingly simple street racing series with a handful of central characters, but over the years the series has grown into one of the biggest action franchises on the planet, complete with a cast that nearly rivals the MCU. The core family of characters has grown with nearly every successive film, leading to full-blown spinoffs and web-like storylines that tie everyone together. When people say that "Fast and Furious" is about family, the dynamic onscreen chemistry of its stars is a huge reason why.

It doesn't hurt either that even minor "Fast and Furious" characters keep returning long after they first appeared. Vince, Hector, Elena, Twinkie, Earl — these are all names that could easily have been left behind as the franchise kept moving forward (a quarter mile at a time), but instead, they all kept showing back up. That sense of continuity in the world of "Fast and Furious" has gone a long way towards keeping viewers engaged, and every movie brings with it new, exciting opportunities to see which fan favorites will return.

Picking a favorite character in a franchise loaded with so many great ones is tough. That's why it's helpful to turn to the zodiac, and the characteristics typically associated with each of its signs. Each "Furious" family member has their own distinct characteristics as well, so we've cross-referenced the two to show you not only what your astrological tendencies are, but also which member of the fast-moving franchise most closely personifies them. Sure, we all want Vin Diesel — but even if you're a secondary character, you're likely to learn some new things about yourself. So, buckle up.

Aries: Brian O'Conner

Starting off the zodiac calendar is original "Fast and Furious" lead protagonist Brian O'Conner, played with undying charisma by the late Paul Walker. From the moment he first appears on the screen in "The Fast and the Furious," Brian makes it very clear what kind of person he is — a prideful, goodhearted, highly competitive racer with a fierce desire to be the best and a penchant for getting into trouble. He'd never be mistaken for humble, but he'd do anything to protect and support the people he cares about most.

As the series continues, Brian grows in wisdom and responsibility, but he never fully loses his competitive streak or brave spirit. Of course, Brian is a stalwart family man.

All that description should be more than enough to show why Brian's the one carrying the Aries banner in the world of "Fast and Furious." The first sign of the zodiac, which rules from March 21 to April 19, is defined by its passion, courage, loyalty, and unceasing excitement. From drag racing in front of freight trains and jumping off cliffs to taking on supercharged tanks and going on dangerous undercover missions, Brian has shown those qualities time and time again throughout the franchise.

Taurus: Letty Ortiz

Steady but stubborn, Letty Ortiz is the standard-bearer for the earth sign Taurus in the world of "Fast and Furious." Ruling from April 20 to May 20, Taurus is defined by traits of dedication, dependability, and occasional bullheadedness. From the very beginning of the franchise, Michelle Rodriguez has embodied those qualities in her performance as Letty. Anyone who's seen the "Fast and Furious" films knows that Letty is a fiercely protective person. She protects her people. She protects her things. She protects herself by any means necessary. Solid in her beliefs and virtually unbreakable, Letty can't be made to do anything she doesn't choose to do.

Another core characteristic of the Taurus mentality that Letty carries through the franchise is her all-or-nothing attitude. She values home, family, peace — all antithetical to her action-packed lifestyle. But at the first sign of need, be it a friend asking for help or a perceived threat to what she has, Letty will spring into action and not look back until everything is the way it should be again. Who else could stand shoulder to shoulder with Dom Toretto and never flinch at what's thrown her way? Taurus is symbolized by the bull, but Letty Ortiz might be an even more frightening enemy to have.

Gemini: Roman Pearce

Tyrese Gibson's Roman Pearce has evolved a good deal since his introduction to the "Fast and Furious" franchise in "2 Fast 2 Furious." In that film, he acted as a pretty direct (if more comically-inclined) substitute for Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto, but after being brought back in "Fast Five," Roman fell into a more focused comic relief role. He's a cowardly braggart, a nervous talker, and someone who always seems to fall into the most dangerous situations by sheer accident. While he may work hard to hide it from time to time, he's also a deeply compassionate person.

From his reliance on wit to his oddball-yet-genius ideas, Roman has many qualities that align him with the air sign Gemini, which rules from May 21 to June 20. Curious, talkative, and fiercely communal, Geminis can occasionally be held back by their tendency to second-guess themselves. Though he always ends up right in the middle of the action, Roman is certainly the most risk-averse member of the "Fast" family. He shows up time and time again anyway, however, as he'd never let his friends down when they need him. Though he may not be on the level of Brian and Dom, Roman's still one of the best drivers you can find.

Cancer: Jakob Toretto

Jakob Toretto may have only entered the world of "Fast and Furious" in 2021's "F9: The Fast Saga," but he's already been positioned as a major part of the overarching story. Played with a dour grittiness by John Cena, Jakob stands as a cold mirror to his older brother Dom. Struck by multiple hardships in his youth, Jakob pushed away his natural emotional sensitivity, developing a hardened exterior to protect himself from future hurt. Unfortunately, that act of self-preservation also led him to a life of morally gray work as a secret government operative, and later as an international criminal.

The sign of Cancer (June 21 to July 22) is a perfect match for Jakob. Symbolized by the crab, the water sign is characterized by a deep emotional attunement and a fear of vulnerability. Cancers' fear of betrayal can lead to some questionable behaviors, as seen in Jakob's own life. However, the fourth sign of the zodiac is also deeply loyal in its own way, even to the point of harm. This trait is seen clearly in "F9" when Jakob chooses to leave his home rather than reveal a secret his father made him promise never to tell.

Smart, tactical, discerning, and fiercely focused, Jakob Toretto is an asset to any group he falls in with — and a serious threat to his enemies. More than anything, though, Jakob Toretto is a man deeply misunderstood.

Leo: Tej Parker

Like Roman Pearce, Tej Parker (Ludacris) was first introduced in "2 Fast 2 Furious," but he didn't become a core member of the "Fast" family until "Fast Five." Also like Roman, his role has shifted over the years. In his first film, Tej was a sort of community organizer for the street racing scene — a man with clear mechanical prowess, but whose primary role seemed to be as a social centerpiece. Later on, Tej became the crew's resident tech guy, but after Nathalie Emmanuel's Ramsey character took some of that responsibility in "Furious 7," Tej evolved again into a sort of jack-of-all-trades.

Though his work has changed often in the "Fast and Furious" franchise, Tej's core personality has not — a personality that lines up quite well with the fire sign Leo. Ruling from July 23 to August 22, Leo is represented by the lion and typically characterized as bright, loud, prideful, and at times downright egotistical. Leos enjoy luxury, praise, fun, friends, and being the center of attention — all things Tej has been shown to value dearly through his time in the franchise. While never the leader of the crew, Tej has always been among them. He's a creative thinker with loads of self-confidence and a love of relaxation, and he's never been known to back down from a challenge.

Virgo: Mia Toretto

Without Mia Toretto, the "Fast" family would be in serious trouble. Played by Jordana Brewster since the very start of the franchise, Dom's sister is the brains of the crew in more ways than one. She has an intensely discerning, analytical mind and works tirelessly and selflessly throughout the series for the good of the group. However, she's also one of the most emotionally intelligent characters, and as such, it's fallen on her to resolve tensions and conflicts more often than not. And of course, as Toretto, Mia's also a force behind the wheel.

In the zodiac, Mia fits best under the sign of Virgo, which rules from August 23 to September 22. The earth sign is defined by its strong work ethic, loyalty, decisiveness, and quick thinking. That's Mia to a tee — a woman who has filled every conceivable role for the crew over the years. Whatever needs to get done is what Mia's going to do, every time. Her dedication to her family manifests itself in a seemingly endless capacity for taking on challenges, making her a backbone to the whole group. No matter what the situation, Mia Toretto is the one you can trust.

Libra: Ramsey

Somewhat of a latecomer to the "Fast" family, enigmatic tech wiz Ramsey has carved a distinct niche for herself since debuting in "Furious 7." Virtuous and self-assured, Ramsey's never afraid to stand up for what she believes in. However, when it comes to getting her hands dirty with the driving and fighting, she's a bit more averse than most of her compatriots.

It can be hard to find a true Libra in an action movie franchise, but Ramsey's a pretty good fit. Ruling from September 23 to October 22, the air sign is generally seen as the most peaceful and serene part of the zodiac. Libra generally has a strong predilection for balance in all things, which is why it's represented by the scales.

While she clearly cares for her friends, Ramsey is a bit more holistically driven than many of them. Dom, Letty, Mia, and the rest of the crew generally act out of loyalty to the family, whereas Ramsey — lacking the same long-term connection that many of the other characters share — acts more from a broader sense of right and wrong. She brings a fresh perspective that has proven invaluable to the team, and while she generally prefers to leave the action to the others, she's grown more comfortable standing on the frontlines when it matters the most.

Scorpio: Luke Hobbs

When Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson joined the "Fast and Furious" franchise in "Fast Five," he made a big splash. His Luke Hobbs character, a DSS agent initially sent to hunt down and arrest Dom Toretto and his crew, quickly became a fan favorite, and it wasn't long before he joined the family in an honorary capacity. Hobbs is a shrewd, calculating, and prideful person who takes great joy in being the best at what he does. He's also utterly fearless and has never been known to stand down, regardless of the potential danger at hand.

Because the water sign Scorpio has a reputation for manipulation and betrayal, Hobbs' lawful good energy might seem like an odd fit. But treachery isn't the only way Scorpio manifests. Ruling from October 23 to November 21, Scorpio is also known for bestowing powerful intuition and wisdom, as well as an almost unstoppable drive to achieve goals. Scorpios are planners, yes, but not always in a conniving way. In the case of Hobbs, that penchant for plotting is what makes him such a good tracker, and typical Scorpio fierceness manifests in all aspects of his character.

Hopefully, the feud between Johnson and Vin Diesel will dissipate one day, allowing Hobbs to again return to the core "Fast and Furious" franchise.

Sagittarius: Sean Boswell

Of all the characters on this list, Sean Boswell is certainly the odd man out. He was the main protagonist of "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," but he didn't appear in another franchise film for years. Even when he did come back, he occupied a much smaller role. However, there's still plenty of Sean screen time to pull from when establishing a complete picture of his personality — a personality that happens to line up quite well with the fire sign Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21).

Who is Sean Boswell? He's a brash and chaotic adrenaline junkie who really just wants to laugh and have a good time. He's a world traveler with an intense passion for all his different interests. He's a man who once strapped rockets to a Pontiac Fiero and launched it into outer space. He's the drift king ... or at least, was for a time. Sean Boswell is a drawling, chaotic maniac with a lot of love in his heart. For a certain sect of those born under Sagittarius, he might as well be the patron saint.

Capricorn: Dominic Toretto

Getting towards the bottom of the zodiac, Dominic Toretto finally appears under the earth sign Capricorn (December 22 to January 19). It would probably be enough say that Capricorn is an incredibly family-focused sign, and that Dom is, to put it mildly, a very family-focused person. But there are many more reasons why the tenth sign of the zodiac is a great match for Vin Diesel's gravely-voiced street racer.

Capricorns don't just love their friends and family — they're compelled by a strong sense of duty to protect and support the people who come into their lives. Dom is a natural leader, but less in a follow-me-into-battle way and more in a big brother way. He has a strong moral code that he'll hold at all costs, and that conviction for his own internal values can lead to some stubborn moments. For instance, Dom held a grudge against his brother Jakob for decades because he believed that Jakob betrayed their father.

Dedicated, responsible, uncompromising — these are all words that perfectly characterize Dom Toretto, and they're also trademarks of the sign of Capricorn. Dom Toretto doesn't have goals, or ambitions; he has responsibilities. Dom Toretto doesn't have friends; he's got family.

Aquarius: Gisele Yashar

Perhaps no core member of the "Fast" family stood as independently as Gisele Yashar, played in the films by Gal Gadot. Gisele started out as an enemy of the main crew in "Fast & Furious," but she quickly became an ally to Dom and the gang. As a former soldier, Gisele has a wide range of skills, and she proved invaluable to the team during her time with them. Throughout that time, however, Gisele maintained a cool and aloof personality, only truly showing her inner self around Han. She's an intelligent, discerning, and compassionate person, but she carries herself with a solitary energy that keeps her somewhat removed from her friends.

That independent spirit is a big reason why Gisele fits the sign of Aquarius so well. Ruling from January 20 to February 18, Aquarius is known for its focus on freedom and compassionate spirit. Despite its name, Aquarius is an air sign, which matches perfectly with Gisele's drifter lifestyle and her enigmatic persona. Always on top of what needs to be done, Gisele often puts her personal feelings to the side in the interest of the group. However, she still cares deeply for those closest to her, as evidenced by the noble sacrifice she makes at the end of "Fast and Furious 6."

Pisces: Han Lue

Saying that Sung Kang's Han Lue is a fan favorite character would be a woeful understatement. He's a character so beloved that he was resurrected from the dead in "F9: The Fast Saga," fifteen years after his original onscreen death took place. What makes Han so appealing? Well to start, he's just a cool guy. Kang plays the role with an effortless charm that casts an enigmatic shadow over Han. He's a former smoker, a heavy snacker, an expert drifter, and an overall solitary person. Han has proven himself to be a deeply loyal and compassionate person, but that doesn't stop him from holding onto his core energy of brooding melancholy.

This fascinating, alluring combination of traits aligns Han powerfully with the water sign Pisces. Ruling from February 19 to March 20, Pisces is often associated with the "tortured artist" archetype, which is perfect way to sum up Han. He's a man whose life has been wracked by loss — a man who's never made one place his home for too long. Wise yet troubled, caring yet reserved, Han is the clear torchbearer for Pisces in the "Fast and Furious" universe.
