Tremors: Watch The Trailer For The Unaired Syfy Reboot

Syfy may not be moving forward with their planned Tremors reboot, but thanks to a new trailer, we have an idea of what the potential series would have looked like.

The reboot saw Kevin Bacon reprising his role as Valentine McKee from the cult hit 1990 film. Syfy handed down a pilot order for the TV adaptation of the film in June of 2017. The movie featured Bacon as a repairman forced to find a way to survive after discovering the Graboids, a group of giant, flesh-eating, worm-like monsters, in his small desert town.

The show was set to take place 25 years later, featuring McKee as he attempted to save the town once again, this time while battling age, alcohol, and a delusional hero complex. "I've been through all this before," Valentine says in the trailer. "They don't plan, they don't strategize. They just kill."

Bacon shared the news about Tremors not being picked up last month. "Sad to report that my dream of revisiting the world of Perfection will not become a reality," he wrote on his Instagram account. "Although we made a fantastic pilot (IMHO) the network has decided not to move forward. Thanks to our killer cast and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard. And always keep one eye out for GRABOIDS!"

Shiloh Fernandez, Megan Ketch, Emily Tremaine, P.J. Byrne, Hunter Parrish, Ebonee Noel, Brandon Jay McLaren, Haley Tju, and John Ellison Conlee were also set to star in the series, which came from The Secret Circle's Andrew Miller. Bacon and David Schiff executive produced the show, while Miller penned the script and Hannibal's Vincenzo Natali directed the pilot.

This is not the first time Syfy has tried to reboot the cult classic. In 2003, back when they were Sci-Fi, the network ordered a TV remake starring Michael Gross, Dean Norris, Lela Lee, Marcia Strassman, Victor Brown, and Gladise Jimenez. The show was canceled after one season. A second attempt at a TV adaptation, with Bacon on board this time, came in late 2015, but the show couldn't find a network that year.

Syfy still has a few exciting shows in contention for next year. They have already picked up the George R.R. Martin drama Nightflyers, as well as a series surrounding Blumhouse's The Purge movies and the comic book adaptation Deadly Class. That show comes from the Russo brothers, the duo behind Avengers: Infinity War. Their other series include 12 Monkeys, Channel Zero, Killjoys, The Magicians, Wynonna Earp, Z Nation, Happy, and Krypton.
