  • Will has been writing about film and television for nearly two decades.
  • In addition to critical work, Will is an award-winning playwright and comedy writer/producer.
  • While other kids were playing outside and learning to lead rich, fulfilling lives, young Will was hard at work watching endless reruns of Saturday Night Live and The X-Files.

Will Fancher began writing about film in college; his first published review was for the 2003 gospel comedy "The Fighting Temptations" starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Beyonce (three stars). Will ran the website Malarkey Blog from 2015 to 2018, covering movies, TV, theatre, whiskey, and boxing. In 2017 he founded Level Best Productions, producing musical comedy, sketch, and improv shows in Chicago. Will is also a musician and songwriter, and teaches children's classes at the Old Town School of Folk Music. When not writing or performing, he makes his own hot sauce.

Will Fancher attended Middle Tennessee State University, where he wrote film reviews for the campus paper, hosted shows on the campus radio station, programmed the campus movie theater, and performed in student plays and music ensembles -- pretty much anything to avoid his actual studies. He also received an MFA in creative writing from Boston University, which was fun.
