The Best Bensler Moment In Law & Order: SVU Season 10

When it comes to television duos, there aren't many out there quite like Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), aka Bensler, from "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." While the characters may now be split up and on different shows, Benson and Stabler remain one of the most iconic partnerships in procedural history. They are right up there with Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) from "The X-Files" or Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (Martin Freeman) from "Sherlock." And when it comes to legendary and memorable moments, there is one particularly noteworthy scene from Season 10 that even some diehard Bensler shippers may have forgotten about.

This particular scene is one that has been highlighted by publications such as New York Magazine's Vulture as one of the best Bensler moments in "Law & Order" history, the reason being that it gives viewers an interaction between Benson and Stabler that we don't often see.

Benson and Stabler have to improvise while working undercover in Wildlife

In the seventh episode of Season 10, titled "Wildlife," fans are treated to one of the steamiest and most amusing Bensler scenes of all time. While working undercover to infiltrate an illegal exotic animal smuggling ring, Stabler's cover is almost blown when Benson has to come to his hotel room to supply him with a cell phone for official communication. The goons he's trying to fool arrive unannounced, which sends Benson fleeing into the bathroom. The goons quickly ascertain that somebody else is in Stabler's hotel room with him. However, when Benson emerges from the bathroom in her underwear, it's clear that she already thought of a way to keep Stabler from being found out.

Benson pretends to be a sex worker, and does a good job of convincing the other men that her presence in the hotel room is purely coincidental. It's a short, funny scene that shows a unique facet of the duo's dynamic. They've worked together for so long that when one starts to improvise, the other can pick the act right up.

Nowadays, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni are both still part of the "Law & Order" franchise but they're on different shows. Hargitay is still doing her thing as Benson on "SVU," while Meloni's Stabler is now leading the way on "Organized Crime." The two have reunited several times in crossover episodes and events, however, it's a far cry from the days of seeing them each and every week.
