Here's Where You Can Watch 1883 Online

The forthcoming "Yellowstone" prequel "Y: 1883" gives fans a glimpse into the brutal history of the Dutton family, long before they owned and operated the Yellowstone ranch. The upcoming series stars real-life couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as John and Margaret Dutton, the ancestors of Kevin Costner's John Dutton. The first trailer for "1883" revealed how the new Paramount+ show would follow this earlier generation of the Dutton family line as they attempt to stake their claim in the Montana land that would eventually become Yellowstone Dutton Ranch audiences know today. However, it becomes apparent very quickly that no matter what time period the story is set in, the Duttons are always contending with enemies on all sides.

"1883" transforms the Dutton family history into an epic and bloody saga that returns the series to its roots in a classical Western setting and promises an adventure unlike anything we've ever seen from the hit television franchise. In addition to McGraw and Hill, "1883" also stars Sam Elliott, Billy Bob Thornton, LaMonica Garrett, Isabel May, and Graham Greene. The first episode debuts on December 19 online and in a special broadcast on the Paramount Network. Here's how you can easily find the first episode of "1883" online.

The Yellowstone prequel 1883 will be available on Paramount+

Each episode of the "Yellowstone" origin story "1883" will premiere exclusively on Paramount+, Paramount's streaming service that launched earlier this year. New episodes "1883" will be available to watch on the streaming platform, beginning with the Season 1 debut episode, which will get a simulcast premiere on Paramount+ and the Paramount Network on December 19 (per Parade). The streaming service is available in packages of $5.99 per month and $9.99 per month, with the latter offering subscribers no commercial interruptions.

While longtime fans and new viewers alike will certainly be happy to have access to the entirety of "1883” on Paramount+, any who might be inclined to follow up with the Duttons in the modern era might be a bit disappointed. At the time of writing, the original "Yellowstone" series is still not available on Paramount+, but it is streaming over on Peacock. The first three seasons are available now if any viewers plan on bingeing the show between episodes of "1883" — although it seems like a strange choice to not bundle the two series together on the same streaming platform.

Regardless, you should still be excited to have immediate access to "1883" the moment it releases, one of the benefits that makes streaming just that much more accessible than regular cable.
