New What If...? Killmonger Funko Pop Has Marvel Fans Losing It

Over the years, there have been myriad iterations of Marvel's properties, some more popular than others. It's safe to say that the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which consists of many of the top-grossing movies of all time, is among the most iconic, along with its depictions of its superheroes. Although this means that we have gotten to see some incredible stories from the comics adapted to the big screen, others have sadly never gotten the chance, because unless we're breaking the sacred timeline, there can typically only be one of each superbeing.

That's where the animated Disney+ series "What If...?" comes in (not to be confused with the romantic comedy of the same name starring Daniel Radcliffe), where an all-powerful being named Uatu (voiced by Jeffrey Wright) is able to view all the multiverses and tell stories of alternate timelines within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We've gotten glimpses into how these stories might play out, but thanks to multiple leaks of various figures connected to the show, we can see even more revealing looks into the alternate universes of the upcoming series.

A new Funko Pop figure suggests Killmonger will become king of Wakanda and kill Ultron

As shown in the first trailer for "What If...?", it appears that T'Challa, confirmed to be posthumously voiced by Chadwick Boseman before his tragic passing, will be abducted by Yondu (Michael Rooker) in place of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), traveling the galaxy and becoming Star-Lord.

However, this would leave room for a new king of Wakanda, a throne that, thanks to a new image of an upcoming Pop Figure by Instagram user Pops Outlet, we can presume will be filled by Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan). The box clearly labels the figure as "King Killmonger," wearing the iconic Black Panther suit without a helmet and, perhaps most intriguingly, appearing to hold the severed head of Ultron.

Of course, this could mean any number of things, but it seems likely that King Killmonger will eventually come toe-to-toe with Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) creation and come out victorious.

"What If...?" comes to Disney+ sometime in August 2021, with a second season confirmed to be coming in the future.
