Suicide Squad Extended Cut To Be Released
Maybe these are the 13 minutes that would've made Suicide Squad a little less divisive.
Warner Bros. unveiled a trailer for an extended cut of David Ayer's flick that will be released on Digital HD and Blu-Ray later this year. According to a press release, the new version will include 13 minutes of "more action and more Squad."
Of course, Jared Leto did say he shot a lot of scenes as the Joker that ended up on the cutting room floor, and ScreenCrush reported that there were rumored to be two different versions of the theatrical cut: a light and fun one that the studio wanted, and a dark and somber version closer to Ayer's vision.
However, Ayer recently told Collider that the version that made it into theaters was actually his cut. That means we probably shouldn't expect a drastically different film with the extended version, but any new footage of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn is hard to turn down.
The extended cut hits Digital HD on Nov. 15, then Blu-ray and DVD on Dec. 13. Check out the insane history of Suicide Squad and some of the movie's biggest plot holes.
