Avengers: Infinity War Takes The Action To Wakanda In New TV Spot

Chaos has been unleashed on Wakanda in the latest TV spot for Avengers: Infinity War. The spot features Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and more of the MCU's heroes joining up with T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and the rest of Wakanda to try to defeat Thanos (Josh Brolin).

"Dread it, run from it, the end is near," Thanos intones at the start of the teaser. His warnings make Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) realize that they're going to need all the help they can get, which appears to be what sends the heroes to Wakanda. There, Cap is finally able to reunite with Bucky, asking how he's been during his time in recovery. "Not bad for the end of the world," Bucky replies.

The spot also features T'Challa rallying Wakanda's warriors, including Winston Duke's M'Baku and Letitia Wright's Shuri, both breakout hits in Black Panther. "Today, we don't fight for one life," T'Challa tells them. "We fight for all of them." However, he's still met with some dissent within his ranks, with Danai Gurira's Okoye telling him, "When you said you were going to open Wakanda to the rest of the world, this is not what I imagined." "What did you imagine?" he asks. "The Olympics," she quips. "Maybe even a Starbucks."

Infinity War is poised to be a massive box office success. Early tracking has the movie set for a $200 million or more opening weekend, with the film being pushed along by Marvel's biggest marketing campaign to date. The movie broke Fandango's record for one-day sales in just six hours when tickets were made available in March, and the first trailer also had a record 230 million views in its first 24 hours across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other social media channels.

Avengers: Infinity War will unite dozens of the MCU's many superheroes to fight against Thanos' quest to gather all of the Infinity Stones and take over the universe. Appearing in the film are Bruce Banner/The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), and Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch).

Also featured in the film are Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Vision (Paul Bettany), Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olson), Wong (Benedict Wong), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Groot (Vin Diesel), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Drax (Dave Bautista), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), James Rhodes/War Machine (Don Cheadle), and Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie). Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, and Benicio del Toro, who plays the Collector, are also set to appear, while Peter Dinklage has an undisclosed role.

Captain America: Civil War helmers Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film and its untitled sequel, both of which are based off scripts from Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Avengers: Infinity War has an April 27, 2018 release date, while the untitled fourth Avengers movie has a May 3, 2019 release date.
