The Best Fin Tutuloua Quote From Law & Order: SVU Season 11

When you're a celebrated rapper and musician like Ice-T, you probably got on that path because you have a distinctive voice and use of diction. However, as an actor, Ice-T's performance as Sgt. Fin Tutuola on the long-running NBC drama "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is so specific that John Mulaney parodied his performance on the show in a 2012 stand-up set. Mulaney pointed out that Tutuola always acts surprised about every kind of sexual deviancy and immoral act on the show, even after years in the Special Victims Unit.

Even if Ice-T's role as Sgt. Tutuola has generated parodies and memes, as seen in The Daily Dot, it's because he's such an iconic presence on the show. His character has also grown a lot over the course of 20 seasons, as he comes to trust his fellow SVU colleagues, like former partner Detective Munch (Richard Belzer), and overcomes his homophobia, accepting his gay son, Ken (Ernest Waddell).

Ice-T's intonations and strong voice mean that he often has memorable lines, too, like this one zinger from Season 11 that stands out from the many he uttered during that season and others.

Fin's Jesus line in the Season 11 episode Anchor is just right

In the Fin Tutuola-centric "Law & Order: SVU" Season 11 episode "Anchor," the SVU officer clashes with activist Randall Carver (John Laroquette) while investigating a child killer. "Anchor" accurately depicts Tutulola's strongest characteristic as a cop, namely that he has a strong sense of right and wrong. But as the ending shows, Tutuola isn't always as good a judge of character as he thinks.

There are several great Tutuola lines in this episode, including his quick warning to a suspect about to jump out a window: "Better grow wings or I'm gonna blow your brains all over the street down there!" He also tells Munch regarding a protester that he's "gonna see how far I can kick that bullhorn up his ***." But maybe his best, most classic quote from the episode is when he sees the insignia "Jesus Loves Me" on a murdered girl's T-shirt: "'Jesus loves me.' Somebody else sure didn't."

It's such a perfect, hard-boiled one-liner that sounds natural coming from the veteran officers of "Law & Order: SVU," but especially the world-weary Sergeant Fin Tutuola.
