The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 15 Scene That Left Fans In Tears

The final season of "The Walking Dead" is more than halfway over, and the penultimate episode of Season 11, Part 2, paved the way for an explosive midseason finale. Episode 15, "Truth," follows the survivors as they weave an increasingly dangerous web of lies in the aftermath of the massacre at Riverbend.

Deputy Governor Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton), aware of their blatant lies, delights in trying to trip them up. He leads Aaron (Ross Marquand), Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam), and dozens of Commonwealth soldiers to Hilltop to warn Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) about the alleged crazed killers lurking in their area. Of course, his real intention is to let them know that he knows they're hiding something, and it's only a matter of time before there are consequences.

"Truth" is a tense episode all-around, but one moment in the calm before the storm at Hilltop struck a nerve with longtime fans.

Hershel mourns his late father

Moments before Lance attempts to scare Hershel Rhee (Kien Michael Spiller) into telling the truth about who was involved in the Riverbend incident, the young boy sits by his late father's grave. As fans know, Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) was ruthlessly murdered by Negan Smith (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in Season 7.

After the emotional confrontation between Hershel and Negan in Episode 14, "The Rotten Core," fans were once again left in tears. The show's official account tweeted a GIF of the scene and captioned it: "We'll always remember you Glenn."

"the hershel/glenn scenes in the past two episodes>>>" replied @shelbyskata.

Fans of "The Walking Dead" unanimously agree that Glenn's death was one of the most heartbreaking deaths in the series, and Hershel is a reminder of how tragic it was. "I cry every time I see Hershel..." admitted @rgvtexgal.

Others echoed this point, noting how similar the two are even down to how they dress. From crying reaction GIFs to teary confessions about missing Glenn, fans were moved by the quiet scene.

"This scene broke me," said @archersrhee with a crying emoji.
