There Are Actually 4 Heroes That The Flash Never Met In The DCEU
With the anticipation continuing to build for "The Flash” movie after the first footage was released at the DC Fandome event in October, fans are more ready than ever to see Ezra Miller's Barry Allen, aka The Flash, in action alongside both Batmen and Sasha Calle's Supergirl. Director Andy Muschietti has continued to reveal just enough to the DCEU fanbase about the film without giving away any major spoilers, especially the identity of the true villain of "The Flash." We're expecting the full trailer to be released very soon, leaving many fans wondering if they'll see even more familiar faces to assist Bary in his quest to fix a seemingly broken timeline.
We last saw Barry Allen team up with the likes of Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Mamoa), Cyborg (Ray Fischer), and Superman (Henry Cavill) in 2017's "Justice League" and more recently, "Zack Snyder's Justice League." It's the first time audiences get to see The Flash interact with other heroes in the DCEU world, as well as get a better sense of his backstory. In both "Justice League" cuts, fans also see The Flash tamper with time travel and, in doing sound, encounter even more DCEU characters at different points in time. In the 2017 cut, a future version of the character is seen crossing paths with Bruce Wayne following the Caped Crusader's Knightmare vision (via Inverse). In Snyder's cut of the movie, the Knightmare sequence features Deathstroke (Joe Manganiello) and Mera (Amber Heard) fighting alongside The Flash, Batman, Cyborg, and Joker (Jared Leto).
However, "The Flash" marks Barry's first solo adventure (technically), and although he knows a few heroes that could help him, there are still plenty of DCEU supers and villains we haven't seen this speedster meet — yet.
Barry Allen hasn't met Harley Quinn or Lex Luthor
Although both Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) have both made a few appearances in the DCEU, both having interacted with multiple heroes (Harley moreso than Lex), neither has ever met Barry Allen before. Harley may have only heard stories of The Flash from characters like Captain Boomerang, whom The Flash apprehended during a bank robbery in 2016's "Suicide Squad." This is unsurprising, though, as Boomerang is a major villain in The Flash's rogues gallery. Aside from this, it is hinted that Harley Quinn might come to know Barry in the future, as he is present in The Snyder Cut Knightmare sequence where Joker taunts Batman about the deaths of both Harley and Robin.
Lex Luthor, intelligent criminal mastermind that he is, knows of Barry and most of his abilities, as the information on metahumans that Bruce Wayne stole in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" came from Lex's archives. The "Superman" antagonist had CCTV footage of Barry using his powers along with various other information about the young hero and his whereabouts. He also certainly knows of Lex, as he is famously wealthy and makes leaps and bounds with his company in the scientific community, something that Barry would keep tabs on. All of this considered, the two still have not met yet, although their paths could certainly cross at some point.
Hippolyta and Shazam don't know The Flash either
Although the Queen of the Amazons has been around for thousands of years — like her daughter, Diana — and has met many gifted beings, "Wonder Woman" matriarch Hippolyta has not met Barry Allen. In truth, she might not even know he exists. As established in 2017's "Wonder Woman," Diana isn't allowed to go home and visit after leaving Themyscira to fight in World War I. As such, she has been unable to update her mother on the adventures she has had with the members of the Justice League. Given that the Amazons still find ways to know information from the rest of the world, it is possible that Hippolyta knows The Flash helped stop Steppenwolf and his forces during the events of "Zack Snyder's Justice League."
It shouldn't be a huge surprise to DCEU fans that Shazam (Zachary Levi) and Barry haven't met yet, as far as we know, either. Both heroes are relatively new to the scene, especially Shazam, as Billy Batson has only seemingly met Superman, according to a small cameo at the end of the character's 2019 solo film. Fans will surely be thrilled when Shazam and The Flash do end up meeting, as their quippy chemistry will likely make us laugh until we cry — and annoy the heck out of Batman, which is even funnier. It's certainly likely that the upcoming "The Flash" movie will set the possibilities for Barry to meet all of these characters sooner than we might think.
