Dave Bautista Hopes Drax Will Meet Tony Stark In Avengers: Infinity War
Here's a meeting we'd wouldn't want to miss.
Dave Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, revealed his biggest hope for the upcoming Marvel mega movie, Avengers: Infinity War. Though tuned-in fans know that the film may feature some bickering between the Avengers and the galaxy-saving class clowns themselves, Bautista stated he still wants his character to meet one of Earth's mightiest heroes.
Speaking with ScreenRant, Bautista said he hopes his character will meet Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark in Infinity War, as he's always believed a meet-up between Drax and Iron Man would be amazing. According to Bautista, because the characters are essentially polar opposites, there's a lot of room to play with dynamics.
"I think there's so much humor to be had there with Drax and Tony Stark. With him being such a sarcastic bastard and Drax taking everything so literally," Bautista explained.
But Bautista's desire to interact with the billionaire philanthropist goes beyond just opportunities to incite a few giggles. He also appreciates of Downey's work as an actor. "I'm a huge fan of Robert's," Bautista said.
We'd venture to say that most Marvel fans would be stoked to see Drax and Tony Stark go shoulder-to-shoulder. Their back-and-forth banter could bring another layer of entertainment to Infinity War, especially since the Avengers films are a bit more serious in tone than James Gunn's riotous Guardians franchise. Here's hoping Bautista's dream comes true.
We'll know for sure if the two heroes team up when Avengers: Infinity War is released on May 4, 2018. Since we've got quite a bit of waiting to do before then, check out what could happen to Marvel's most beloved in Phase Three.
