Dave Bautista Wants Drax To Fight Thanos In Avengers: Infinity War

Dave Bautista would like a Guardians of the Galaxy storyline to wrap up in Avengers: Infinity War.

The actor, who plays Drax the Destroyer, said that he would like to see his character get his long-awaited revenge on Thanos in the superhero team-up movie or, if that fails, in the third Guardians of the film.

"I'd love to see him go head to head with Thanos," Bautista told ScreenRant. "I've always been a proponent for that." However, he added that he trusts what Marvel plans to do with the character in the future, saying "they're just really brilliant" about their writing.

"James Gunn has so much, well, he'll have complete creative control over Guardians 3 and he has tons of input as far as Guardians go on in Infinity War, so I just trust in him, man. I do completely," he said.

Considering the Guardians are set to appear in Infinity War and the movie will feature all of the superheroes facing off against Thanos, it wouldn't be wild for Drax to have the opportunity to confront Thanos about what happened to his family. However, there will also be quite a lot of other heroes in the mix trying to defeat the super-villain, so it's hard to tell how much action Drax specifically may get to see in the fight.

But if Thanos survives past infinity War, there's a chance Drax could get another shot at him in the third Guardians movie, which Gunn recently announced he will return to write and direct. The character also does have a comic book history of defeating Thanos in a pretty gruesome way.

We're a bit nervous that Drax's quest to end Thanos could result in his death at the end of Marvel's Phase 3, which runs through the fourth Avengers movie, although we're still hopeful that he'll find a way to make it out alive. While we wait to learn the fate of Drax's mission and the fate of the character himself, find out how Bautista went from WWE wrestler to a Hollywood star.
