The First Trailer For Demon Slayer Has Twitter Buzzing

Season 1 of "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" was already a hit before its follow-up film, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Mugen Train" made movie history in the US and abroad. Despite the ongoing difficulties faced by the industry during the COVID-19 pandemic, the film managed to blow past the record set by "Spirited Away" and become the highest-grossing film in Japan ever and one of the highest-grossing anime films of all time in the US.

The new Season 2 trailer teases the upcoming Entertainment District arc, which fans on Reddit have described as one of the best portions of the original manga series that "Demon Slayer" was adapted from. The subtitled trailer, which first premiered as a part of the 2021 Anime Expo, was posted to Twitter on July 4 for fans to enjoy everywhere.

Viewers have been waiting patiently for any information about when they can expect the next season of "Demon Slayer" and had no qualms about sharing their feelings about the new footage. Here is why the first trailer for "Demon Slayer" has fans on Twitter talking.

Fans are looking forward to Demon Slayer's next arc

The buzz on Twitter was upbeat about the tone that the new trailer for "Demon Slayer" set for Season 2. User @delicate_kitten said, "Let's goo looking forward to watching the second season," sentiments echoed by @nicolascarmich2 and @Kokusen98.

A considerable number of fans had hoped that the new reveal would come with a more concrete announcement about when new episodes would air, such as @lovechoso, who said, "Drop the release date bestie," while offering a minimal bribe in an accompanying meme. Another section of fans, such as @NicholasLightTV and @jawk, were upset that the new trailer was similar to one that came out months ago. However, as @zKamikaze_ explained, "This is the official trailer in English, the other was from Japan and was subtitled by fans."

Generally, however, fans were excited about what they had seen and what they could expect from the next chapter of "Demon Slayer." A fan of the manga, @chelsmadams, shared a panel from the original of three characters dressed as women to infiltrate the entertainment district captioned "Best arc IMO just bc of this." Some viewers, like @fazalr_, discussed the proper viewing order for the franchise, which requires watching the film after Season 1 but before Season 2.

Thankfully, the trailer's final moments once again place the release date of "Demon Slayer" in 2021, so fans shouldn't have to wait too long to see their favorite heroes return to the small screen.
