Here's Who American Horror Story Fans Think Could Beat Michael

The premise of "American Horror Story: Apocalypse" was enough to get fans excited months before the show premiered. With rumors of a crossover between fan-favorite seasons including "AHS: Murder House" and "AHS: Coven," the eighth season was expected to be a major hit. Unfortunately for fans, "AHS: Apocalypse" was underwhelming for several reasons: There wasn't much apocalyptic action, some of the crossover components didn't make sense, and the antichrist figure Michael Langdon (Cody Fern) was defeated in an anticlimactic twist.

We first met Michael back in "AHS: Murder House," which was the iconic first season of the horror anthology. When the ghost Tate Langon (Evan Peters) raped the human Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton), she fell pregnant with the future antichrist. We get a hint of his murderous tendencies when, as a toddler, he murders his nanny. Fast-forward to "AHS: Apocalypse," and we meet the now-adult Michael, who is quite the powerful figure — for the most part. On a recent Reddit thread, user u/alumaxy asked "AHS" fans who they think would be able to beat Michael in a fight, and the results have plenty of hilarious commentary about the character's underwhelming fate.

Michael Langon was taken out in a mundane way

Though Michael was supposed to be the most powerful being in existence to bring about the end of the world, he was killed in a rather common way. When Mallory (Billie Lourd) goes back in time to prevent his ending the world, she runs him over with her car several times. Many fans were confused at his death — you'd think the literal son of Satan would need more than a human invention to kill him — and felt the ending was unsatisfactory, to say the least.

On the aforementioned Reddit thread, fans had fun coming up with their guesses as to who would be able to defeat Michael. Some took the question seriously and gave thought-out responses, like Shachath/The Angel of Death (Frances Conroy) from "AHS: Asylum" or Fiona Goode (Jessica Lange) from "AHS: Coven" under specific circumstances.

The majority of the answers, however, poked fun at Michael and his lackluster powers. User u/finc06 wrote, "the cook from 1984," user u/waterenthu2563 replied, "Anyone with a big enough stick," and the top answer by user u/backwardsinheels9 was simply, "Mallory and a Honda Odyssey."

Though Michael had the potential to end humanity as we know it, he was merely squashed by a van and definitely deserved a more profound death.
