Anna Kendrick Wants To Play Robin In Ben Affleck's Batman Movie
Last week, during the press junket for The Accountant, co-stars Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick opened up about comic book movies and the media's often hasty rush to run with rumors about them. Now the dramatic duo are having a little fun with it.
In a new interview with MTV News, Kendrick dresses up as Robin for a playful bit in which she asks Affleck for the "plucky sidekick" role in the upcoming Batman solo flick he's writing and directing. "Can I say what has two thumbs and loves superhero movies?" Kendrick asks. "This guy. Love it. Love them. 'Put down that school bus, Doctor Disaster'!"
When Affleck nixes the Robin idea, Kendrick (who says she got the cape from Affleck's mom) inquires about the role of Bruce Wayne, to which Affleck is equally disinterested. Kendrick says, "Do I not have the stamina? Do I not have the look, Mr. Trump? You are dream killers."
Affleck responds that it was his own childhood dream to one day be in a musical. He recalls the prized part that got away–thanks to Kendrick winning the role. "Finally, a little script called Pitch Perfect lands on my desk," he says. "Part fits me to a T: Beca, a rebellious, reluctant leader with the voice of an angel."
While they're sort of having fun at our expense, the clip is undeniably funny. Meanwhile, Affleck also says he just wrapped filming for Justice League, and again downplayed how far he's gotten with plans for the Batman movie. Of course, it's getting tough to tell what's real anymore.
If he does get around to making the flick, we know Deathstroke is supposed to be one of the villains. Here's why the movie could be terrible or amazing.
