Jennifer Coolidge Lives Out Her Dolphin Dreams With E.l.f. Cosmetics' Super Bowl 2023 Commercial

Jennifer Coolidge is riding high on a wave of success. That should be obvious to anyone with a few streamer log-ins, and indeed, Coolidge has credited streaming platforms for her career renaissance. After establishing herself as a comedy icon in projects like "American Pie," "Legally Blonde," and a number of Christopher Guest films, the actress' resume is more stacked than ever. Following more recent appearances in "American Horror Story" and "The Watcher," Coolidge showed off her singular acting abilities as Tanya McQuoid in "The White Lotus" and scooped up her first Emmy award.

Coolidge's own personal quirks inspired Tanya's arc, and even though the character went overboard at the conclusion of Season 2 of "The White Lotus," those quirks are still going strong. Backstage at the 2022 Emmys, two Access Hollywood reporters asked about Coolidge's dream role, and she replied, simply and full of conviction, "a dolphin."

In a new Super Bowl ad for e.l.f. Cosmetics, Coolidge's dolphin dreams are finally coming true.

e.l.f. Cosmetics' primer makes Jennifer Coolidge feel slick as a sea creature

At Super Bowl LVII, the street poles of Philadelphia aren't going to be the only things slicked up with goo. In e.l.f. Cosmetics' Super Bowl ad, Jennifer Coolidge tries out the company's Power Grip Primer. To the actress' delight, it makes her feel like a certain sea creature. "My gosh," she coos to her mirror. "It looks like I came from the sea." Her eyes widen. "I look like a dolphin. Like a baby dolphin!" Coolidge then breaks out into an uncanny dolphin impression. She doesn't even care that the primer is a tad sticky.

The 45-second TV spot isn't the first eccentric ad from Coolidge. In October, the actress starred in a holiday-themed Old Navy ad in which she feeds asparagus to a reindeer. The e.l.f. Cosmetics ad, however, was penned by "The White Lotus" creator Mike White, for whom Coolidge is a bubbly muse. It's only appropriate that White is the one to help his friend's aquatic dream come true.
