Avengers: Infinity War Fans May Have Found Ant-Man In IMAX Poster

The heroes of Avengers: Infinity War aren't the only ones with alter egos and hidden abilities. A few Marvel fans apparently work as super-sleuths in their down time, as they seem to have have discovered Ant-Man hiding in the recently released IMAX poster for Avengers: Infinity War

Marvel gifted the world the stunning IMAX poster, courtesy of Empire, on Thursday, and in the 24 hours since, fans have been combing it to take in the full scope of its lushness and absorb the minutiae of its technical design and layout. The one-sheet gave all our favorite bad guy-beating, various-weapons-wiedling characters — like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), and the Guardians of the Galaxy – another 15 minutes in the sun ahead of the film's official release.

But Reddit user TopherGray claims there's one more character tucked amid the IMAX poster madness: Paul Rudd's Ant-Man.

TopherGray pointed out that Ant-Man seems to be nestled above the Avengers logo and just below Black Widow in the poster. They blew up the image, zooming in on the area where they argue Ant-Man is located, in an attempt to confirm this theory. It's difficult to see exact details of what could be the pint-sized hero, since all that can be made out is the general outline of a human form, but TopherGray just might be on to something.

Elsewhere on Reddit, Avengers: Infinity War fans are also claiming to have found the Time Stone in the IMAX poster. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Time Stone is introduced as Doctor Strange's Eye of Agamotto, which was found alongside other artifacts collected by the Masters of the Mystic Arts. Doctor Strange utilized the Time Stone to construct a time loop in order to outsmart the primordial, inter-dimensional entity known as Dormammu. While his plan worked out well, and the world was saved from destruction, Doctor Strange eventually forfeited the Time Stone back to the Masters of the Mystic Arts at the end of the 2016 film Doctor Strange. It hasn't appeared in the MCU since then.

In the poster, the way Thanos (Josh Brolin) has the Infinity Gauntlet positioned makes it hard to say for certain whether the Time Stone is really embedded in there or not. And according to a third theory regarding the IMAX image, it definitely isn't.

A ton of other Marvel fans have blended the two aforementioned propositions together to argue that it isn't the Time Stone in the Gauntlet that we're seeing, it's actually Ant-Man holding onto the empty gem slot. Digital artist BossLogic carefully illustrated the claim in a recent Instagram post.

Ant-Man has already been confirmed to appear in Avengers: Infinity War, despite being largely left out of the movie's promotional materials. We also know that the Infinity Stones and the Infinity Gauntlet will be a huge part of the movie, as Thanos' whole reason for creating such a ruckus on Earth is to get his meaty hands on the glittering gems.

At the end of the day, these Reddit-posted discoveries don't officially confirm anything, so it's best if everyone holds their breath and waits until Avengers: Infinity War is released on April 27 to make any hard-and-fast claims.
