Bohemian Rhapsody Sneak Peek Teases Rami Malek As Freddie Mercury

Ahead of the official trailer for the impending Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, 20th Century Fox unveiled a teensy-tiny sneak peek at the film. 

What the footage lacks in length, it more than makes up for in teases: It shows off shots of Queen's iconic performance at Live Aid in 1985 and glimpses of Mr. Robot actor Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, seen on stage in an all-black number with a thick mullet and rocking a white wife-beater and blue jeans with the signature mustache the Queen frontman grew in later years. 

The whole thing is set not to the song from which the pic takes its name, but to the British rock band's "We Will Rock You," and hints that fans will experience the music they already know and the story they definitely don't. 

Alongside the teaser reveal, 20th Century Fox confirmed that the full-length trailer will debut tomorrow (May 15) at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET and revealed the first poster for Bohemian Rhapsody, shown below.

As the film's synopsis explains, "Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury's lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that were always more like a family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers, and music lovers to this day."

Bohemian Rhapsody also stars Joe Mazzello as John Deacon, Ben Hardy as Roger Taylor, and Gwimlym Lee as Brian May — the hyper-talented members of Queen — as well as Lucy Boynton as Mercury's lifelong companion Mary Austin, Aiden Gillen as former Queen manager John Reid, Tom Hollander as Queen's post-1978 manager Jim Beach, Aaron McCusker as Mercury's boyfriend Jim Hutton, Allen Leech as Paul Prenter, and Mike Myers in an undisclosed role.

Directed in part by Dexter Fletcher, who took over for Bryan Singer after the creative was fired from the film following alleged irresponsible and unprofessional behavior, Bohemian Rhapsody will rock out on November 2.
