Gal Gadot Clarifies Wonder Woman 2 Rumors About Brett Ratner

Turns out those rumors that Gal Gadot threatened to walk away from Wonder Woman 2 if Brett Ratner is involved weren't true.

Gadot and director Patty Jenkins briefly spoke about the controversy on the red carpet at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, but Gadot clarified that she didn't make any such statement during an interview on Today. It's not because she didn't want to, but because everything had been sorted out prior to those reports.

"At the end of the day, a lot has been written about my views and the way that I feel, and everyone knows the way that I feel because I'm not hiding anything," Gadot said. "But the truth is, there's so many people involved in making this movie, and they all echo the same sentiments. Everyone knew what was the right thing to do. But there was nothing for me to actually come and say because it was already done before this article came out."

Ratner, who has been accused of sexual harassment by several women, helped finance the first Wonder Woman movie through his RatPac Dune production company. But Ratner subsequently said he was stepping back from Warner Bros. and the studio moved fast to end its relationship with the producer and financier.

When Jenkins was asked about the subject, she said, "That whole thing happened weeks ago, so that actually had nothing to do with Gal."

Gadot was already contractually obligated to star in Wonder Woman 2, and the movie will actually arrive six weeks earlier than expected on Nov. 1, 2019.
