The Handmaid's Tale Season 2 Teases Production Start, Premiere Date
The first teaser for the second season of The Handmaid's Tale has arrived, and it elicits more questions than answers. However, it does reveal one important thing: when we can expect season 2.
Hulu released the brief teaser for Emmy-winning show, and it features a Handmaid on the run with a bonnet in her hand. It's difficult to tell what exactly we're seeing, but a synopsis for the new season could provide clues: "The Emmy-winning drama series returns with a second season shaped by Offred's pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead. 'Gilead is within you' is a favorite saying of Aunt Lydia. In season 2, Offred and all our characters will fight against–or succumb to–this dark truth."
We know that season 2 will probably introduce the wastelands that were alluded to in the first season, and there have been some personnel changes. Alexis Bledel has been promoted to series regular as Emily/Ofglen, while Clea DuVall will join the show as her wife, Sylvia.
The Handmaid's Tale returns sometime in April 2018.
