Ezra Miller Owns A Disturbing Keepsake From One Of Their Most Unsettling Films
It's fair to say that Warner Bros. has been battling a number of controversies over the last few years, from the allegations of Joss Whedon's abusive behavior on the "Justice League" set to the toxic behavior from a portion of the DC fandom — and now the "Batgirl" cancellation. But unfortunately, the studio has to keep rolling with the punches, especially when it comes to the numerous allegations of worrying behavior from "The Flash" star Ezra Miller.
The actor's questionable actions first hit the headlines in 2020 when a video showed them assaulting a fan outside of a bar in Iceland. Fast-forward to March 2022, and police arrested them after they were involved in a string of incidents in Hawaii. Two parents in North Dakota alleged that Miller was psychologically manipulating their child and were granted a protective order for 18-year-old Tokota Iron Eyes. However, the court couldn't locate the star to serve them with the protective order (via LA Times).
In August 2022, the star was charged with felony burglary in Stamford, Vermont, as a number of bottles of alcohol were taken from a resident's home. DC fans are understandably concerned about the situation, as well as questioning whether Warner Bros. will be able to release "The Flash" in 2023 due to the numerous allegations.
The actor first rose to fame back in 2011 when they starred in Lynn Ramsay's haunting drama, "We Need to Talk About Kevin," as the titular unhinged teenager, quickly catching the attention of bigger studios. After starring in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and "The Stanford Prison Experiment," Miller joined the DCEU as the Flash in 2016's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

"We Need to Talk About Kevin" follows Tilda Swinton as Eva Khatchadourian, a mother who struggles to come to terms with the fact that her son, Kevin (Ezra Miller), committed a brutal massacre using a bow and arrow. Through flashbacks, Eva tries to figure out if the way she raised him as a child is the root of Kevin's issues — and if she's ultimately responsible for his horrendous actions. It was met with plenty of praise, earning itself a 78% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes alongside rave reviews from critics — as Battleship Pretension's Scott Nye said, "We Need to Talk About Kevin is in every sense of the word a masterpiece."
Back in 2018, Miller spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the trajectory of their career so far — and how they came to be such a big name in the industry. Aside from playing the Flash, the star is also known for their role as Credence Barebone in the "Fantastic Beasts" trilogy. But when the conversation turned to "We Need to Talk About Kevin," the outlet wrote, "he offers to bring out the actual crossbow, which he keeps on the property." It's worth noting that this was before Miller had started using they/them pronouns.
Considering the film was Miller's breakout role, it isn't so surprising that they kept the bow to commemorate the turning point of their career.
