The Big Question The Boys Fans Have About Temp V And Supes

Amazon's "The Boys" just wrapped up Season 3 and it has continued to bring the diabolical mayhem that was standard in Seasons 1 and 2. Throughout the entire series, Homelander (Antony Starr) has progressively been getting more unstable in his position as the leader of the world's most prominent superhero team, The Seven. However, this particular season has seen Homelander devolve to the point of seemingly no return, leading Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and The Boys to pursue a weapon that can kill Homelander, which is rumored to be in Russia. They soon discover this weapon is actually Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), the United States and Vought Industries' first famous "supe."

However, in learning about Soldier Boy, Butcher goes to interrogate some members of Soldier Boy's old superhero team, Payback. To do so, Butcher relies on a drug that Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) gave him early in Season 3, which temporarily gives someone superpowers for 24 hours called Temp V. Hughie (Jack Quaid) also ends up using Temp V to help Butcher and Soldier Boy in their plan to kill Homelander. That is until Annie, aka Starlight (Erin Moriarty), discovers that Temp V will ultimately kill its user if taken too often.

Full-fledged supes notably have Compound V running through their veins, but with Temp V now on the table, "The Boys" fans have some questions about the implications of Temp V and supes moving forward in the series.

Fans wonder would would happen if a supe takes Temp V

In "The Boys" Reddit thread, fans began discussing Butcher and Hughie's use of Temp V. U/BisexualSquirell wrote, "I wonder what would happen if a supe took temp v." It raises a great question: As supes already have Compound V, would the extra Temp V give them a sort of boost? Or would it kill them in a sort of overdose situation?

U/DRTwitch1 thinks that it would be similar to A-Train's (Jessie T. Usher) abuse of Compound V during Season 1. "I imagine it's the same as in the first season when A-Train took Compound V. Enhances their powers and has drawbacks with continued use." Others, such as u/TerminatorReborn, are curious to see if the use of Temp V is even possible given the indestructible skin of some supes. "I think we might see it with Maeve, A train or Kimiko. That's if they can puncture their arm with a needle lol, Maeve should be sturdy enough to not be able to," they said.

U/Matt463789 even thinks that it's possible Homelander may decide to reach for Temp V for extra strength and it would then push him further into chaos. It could also be possible that Butcher has to take more of the drug to stay alive since the Season 3 finale confirms that he is dying. It will be interesting to see how Temp V plays a role in Season 4 of "The Boys" when it comes out.
