Gal Gadot Says Justice League Is 'Not A Wonder Woman Movie'
Although Wonder Woman has become the queen of the DC Extended Universe (which, by the way, isn't actually the name of it), don't expect Justice League to be all about her.
Gal Gadot told Empire (via Comic Book Movie) that her character gets just as much screen time as Batman (Ben Affleck), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and the other members of Justice League, but she said, "This is not a Wonder Woman movie."
Still, Gadot said that Wonder Woman won't exactly get lost in the shuffle. "Diana serves as the glue of the team," she said. "She finds moments to support every one of the team and make them feel stronger or believe in themselves."
It's worth noting that filming for Justice League was already well underway when Wonder Woman hit theaters and became the biggest hit of the summer. If there had been more time, would the tone of Justice League and Wonder Woman's role have been changed? It's difficult to say, but DC is definitely reevaluating its approach to movies since Wonder Woman premiered.
Ray Fisher, who plays Cyborg, recently said that Justice League reshoots were partly needed to "lighten the tone," and there are reports that DC is rethinking the whole extended universe thing. Still, DC Entertainment's chief creative officer Geoff Johns responded to it by tweeting that the DC movie universe is "100 percent" connected.
We'll find out how it all comes together when Justice League arrives in theaters on Nov. 17.
