Why A-Train's Powers Has The Boys Fans Scratching Their Heads

Amazon Prime's "The Boys" Season 3 is dropping at the beginning of June, and it's set to be as diabolical as always, as suggested by the official trailer. Not only should fans of "The Boys" expect to see the continued insanity of Antony Starr's Homelander, but it is revealed that Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) has decided to inject himself with a compound that will give him the powers of a "supe" for 24 hours. Throughout both seasons of "The Boys," fans have witnessed multiple storylines stemming from the members of The Seven while they also followed Billy, Mother's Milk (Laz Alonso), Hughie (Jack Quaid), Frenchie (Tomer Capone), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara). Starlight (Erin Moriarty) was an initial focus of Season 1 for the obvious reason of her discovery of Vought's corruption.

However, we also end up following an interesting path of self-acceptance for The Deep (Chace Crawford), we see Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) go through relationship tensions with her partner due to the unforgivable actions of The Seven, and we spend a lot of time witnessing A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) get addicted to Compound V. A-Train, in specific, has gone through quite the struggle since accidentally killing Hughie's girlfriend Robin (Jess Salgueiro) at the beginning of Season 1. Not only did he experience heart issues due to his addiction, but he was fired from The Seven in Season 2.

As fans prepare to see where the future is headed for A-Train in Season 3, some of them have been scratching their heads when considering just how fast A-Train's super speed really is.

Fans think A-Train really isn't that fast of a speedster

According to a recent thread on Reddit, fans believe that A-Train's powers could not only get him killed by Homelander, but they aren't anywhere near the level of speed that his DC and Marvel counterparts have. Multiple viewers of "The Boys" like user u/The-Falcon-King and u/Papaofmonsters explained that Homelander himself is insanely fast, meaning that for all of A-Train's dodging, it would take only one lucky shot to kill him. Not to mention, his heart issues are making him slower than ever. Building off of that, u/captmotorcycle wrote that the "supes" are still human, implying that A-Train would have to avoid making mistakes if he wants to be safe from Homelander.

User u/Lost_Hunter3601 explained that in comparison to superheroes like The Flash, A-Train's speed is nowhere even close. "[R]emember when he popped up in hueys [sic] cars with annie he said it takes him like hours to comb the city," they explained. "[F]lash can orbit around the world under a second."

It is true that The Flash is on a level of speed that is hard to match, and due to A-Train's heart issues, he would be outrun by some other speedsters in "The Boys" universe — like Shockwave (Mishka Thébaud). It will be interesting to see how or if A-Train regains much of his speed in Season 3 of "The Boys," although it will likely be nowhere close to the abilities of other comic heroes that we know.
