What Fans Of The Boys Want To See From Stormfront In Season 3

As much as "The Boys" has made a bold and unapologetic effort to tear the superhero genre apart with every season so far, there's one thing that the show hasn't dared try out just yet: resurrecting heroes. Currently, the biggest Supe casualties in the show are the explosive exit of Translucent (Alex Hassell) in the first season followed by Stormfront (Aya Cash) getting Anakin Skywalker'd and ending up a deranged, Nazi-jargon-spouting burn victim who loses most of her limbs at the end of the second season.

Now, while we can't see the return of Translucent happening any time soon (pun intended), it's safe to say that Stormfront had a far more prominent role in the show, molding Homelander (Antony Starr) into becoming even more of a monster than he was before they met. Factoring in this twisted romance that was cut short, it wouldn't be too wild of an idea to see the spark reignited, and fans have plenty of grisly ideas on just how to get it and Stormfront back.

Fans plan Stormfront's comeback by way of robotics and regenerative powers

Following the fallout of the second season of "The Boys," which saw a delusional and severely injured Stormfront ending up a husk of her former self, fans were quick to take to Reddit to discuss ways of bringing her back from the brink and causing just as much chaos. The most popular comment came from u/KennKennyKenKen, who asked, "Will there be enough budget for a robot Nazi next season?" throwing in the idea that Stormfront returns to the fold as some Darth Vader-like monster with a very heavy ax to grind.

As great as that idea was, another fan added their input, keeping in mind that even after taking such a major hit, Stormfront is made of sterner stuff. "I'm thinking she will regenerate," suggested u/smacksaw, regarding Stormfront's potential return, hinting at an even wilder theory. "I'm also thinking there's more than one reason Homelander didn't finish her off. Some selfish, some sympathetic, some knowing she would/could recover from her injuries to some degree."

Could this be one of the few occasions where the psychopath who's a god among men actually shows some humanity? This is "The Boys," of course. Anything can happen, and that might include saving Stormfront by way of another Supe with a very convenient power.

Could Gecko be the lifeline Stormfront needs? The Boys boss suggests not

Should you cast your super-enhanced mind back to the start of the second season, you may remember that we were introduced to Matthew Culbert, aka Gecko (David W. Thompson), who has the impressive power of regenerative healing. Gecko sold off his gift to the highest bidder, who would pay to harm and dismember him without risk of danger or consequence. It's this powerful perk that fans think might play into Stormfront's revival.

Redditor u/TheSentientPurpleGoo posited, "They could do some type of blood-transfusion thing with Gecko- he already works at Vought." As great as these suggestions are, though, the show's creator, Eric Kripke, set the record straight in October 2020, revealing just what kind of condition we're going to see Stormfront in for the show's third season (as teased in the recent trailer), and it sounds like the reunion will be a slow and painful one.

Speaking to TVLine, Kripke revealed, "No, she's not dead! She's Stumpfront! She's a stumpy little Nazi." According to the man behind "The Boys," Stormfront's powers will also be her punishment. "What we thought was interesting is, if you remember, she ages very, very slowly. So the best poetic ending for that character is someone who so believed in some kind of pure race finds herself mutilated and having to live with it for potentially centuries felt like a fate worse than death for her. So no, Stumpfront is not dead. Hashtag Stumpfront lives!" Yay?
