Who Plays Cameron On Blue Bloods?
Since premiering on CBS in 2010, "Blue Bloods" has been going strong on the network for a whole 13 seasons. In the series, Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) leads the New York City Police Department as its commissioner, and the rest of his immediate family also share important roles in law enforcement. His sons, Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Jamie (Will Estes), serve as detectives and patrolmen in the NYPD, while his daughter, Erin (Bridget Moynihan), works as an assistant district attorney.
While the show largely depends on the performance of its core cast, "Blue Bloods" has also featured guest-starring appearances from the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, Lorraine Bracco, and Method Man. The series also employs a regular number of smaller profile characters who advise or assist the Reagans, including everyone from Abigail Baker (Abigail Hawk) to Garrett Moore (Gregory Jbara) and Sid Gormley (Robert Clohessy).
One such familiar face is that of Erin's assistant, Cameron. She first appears in Season 6, Episode 9 ("Hold Outs"), greeting her boss' return to the office after a big win in court with bad news about another case. Most of her scenes involve announcing visitors and brief back-and-forth conversations with Erin and investigator Anthony Abetemarco (Steve Schirripa). Notably, although her role is often minimal, Cameron has appeared in quite a few episodes of the series.
So, who is the actress behind this character?
Pallavi Sastri plays Cameron in Blue Bloods
The actress who plays Cameron in "Blue Bloods" is Pallavi Sastri. Sastri first made her on-screen debut in the 2011 independent comedy "The Grand Theft." In the years since, she has made guest appearances in such popular television shows as "Nurse Jackie," "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" and "Master of None" (via IMDb).
According to PallaviSastri.com, the actress grew up about 30 miles outside of Austin and spent her childhood weekends singing traditional Indian music with her parents and sister. On her website, Sastri reported that music served an important purpose in her life growing up. She wrote, "When I look back at early adulthood, I can honestly say that being involved in the arts was the reason why I could move past being only one of five South Asian kids in the entirety of good ole Bastrop, TX."
Sastri studied musical theater at the University of Oklahoma where she met Gabrielle Ruiz ("Crazy Ex-Girlfriend"), with whom she now co-hosts the podcast "What are Friends For." She told Buzz Magazine she was thankful to have the podcast as an outlet during the COVID-19 crisis. "I always lead with gratitude and to the best of my ability approach everything in my life with some combination of grit, humility, and resilience," Sastri said. "Anything done with those intentions is a success."
Since the pandemic, Sastri has only appeared in two short films, 2021's "Table Talk" and "Savage Sisters." However, if her previous IMDb filmography is any indication, she'll be busy again soon enough. An upcoming feature, "Land of Gold," on which she also served as a producer, is set for release in 2022 (via IMDb). Additionally, although it's not entirely clear whether Sastri will return for "Blue Bloods" Season 13, it certainly remains a possibility.
