The Impractical Jokers Bit That Was 'Insanely Difficult' To Do

For nine seasons, "Impractical Jokers" has given audiences precisely what they would expect out of its title. The show has followed four best friends as they go around New York City, pulling pranks on unsuspecting citizens. Most of the time, it's the guys involved that end up being the butt of the joke, allowing everyone to have a good laugh at their expense.

Season 9 sees a bit of a change-up in terms of the "Impractical Jokers" formula. For starters, long-time joker Joe Gatto left the series to focus more on his family. This paved the way for the remaining three pranksters — Sal Vulcano, James "Murr" Murray, and Brian "Q" Quinn — to have more celebrity guests on the show. For instance, when Season 9 resumed on April 2, Eric André was on board as an honorary joker. While it's clear the remaining cast members still have a ton of fun on set coming up with unique ways to humiliate one another, there was one prank for the upcoming batch of episodes that was apparently pretty difficult to pull off.

The punishment for Eric André's episode was brutal

Every episode of "Impractical Jokers" has a final challenge of sorts. Basically, whoever loses the most challenges preceding the last act has to go forward with a "punishment." This is typically a far more advanced prank with the losing joker doing something extra humiliating in front of the public. In an interview with People, the jokers, minus Gatto, spoke about what fans can expect going into the remainder of Season 9. One of the most intriguing bits of information was regarding the final punishment for Eric André's episode.

Vulcano explained, "The punishment on the first one is a huge one. I think there were something like 40 to 50 people involved in it." That's already an immense undertaking, far exceeding what most final punishments entail, but he went on to say, "It's really out there. It was insanely difficult to do. Just out of the gate, I'm excited for [fans] to see the first one back. It'll set the tone, hopefully."

If they have something that remarkable for the first episode right off the bat, it's indeed exciting to think of what the guys have cooked up next.
