"Doom Patrol" is one of the most unique superhero shows currently airing. Based on the DC comic of the same name, "Doom Patrol" focuses on a group of reclusive misfits, who just so happen to have superpowers, as they are forced to deal with their trauma and become a team. The show leans heavily into the weirdness of its source material, and its distinctive characters fit well into the strange story, while also being relatable and well-developed. "Doom Patrol" has been well-received by both fans and critics alike, and its overall average rating on Rotten Tomatoes sits at a 97%.
Perhaps one of the most intriguing characters in "Doom Patrol," however, is Jane (Diane Guerrero). Jane is the primary identity of Kay Challis, who has dissociative identity disorder. Each of her alters has a unique power or ability, making her perhaps one of the most powerful characters in the show. Like the rest of the Doom Patrol, though, Jane is a lot older than she appears to be. But how old is she exactly? Determining this is not exactly an easy task.

According to DC Database, Kay Challis is born in 1950. Of course, Jane herself doesn't emerge until years later, so it makes determining the age of Kay's Jane alter a bit more tricky. However, the reason for Jane's youthful appearance is a bit easier to talk about, because it's down to one man's intervention and manipulation: Niles Caulder (Timothy Dalton). Secretly, Niles has scientists perform experiments on Jane in order to achieve immortality. The experiments are mostly successful, though they also result in Jane and her other alters developing superpowers.
It's unclear if Jane or Kay will continue to look as young as they do, or just what other effects her condition has or will have on her body. Also, in the interest of splitting hairs, some of her alters are much older or much younger than other alters, so determining an actual age is nearly impossible. Kay's age is the easiest to pin down, as based on her birth year, she would be around 72 years old in 2022, even if she doesn't look anywhere close to that. Physically, Jane appears to be somewhere in her mid-to-late 20s. Overall, Jane of "Doom Patrol" is quite an enigma, but maybe future episodes will reveal more about her backstory, powers, and age.
