Hela Looms Over Thor: Ragnarok International Poster
Hela is watching you in the new international poster for Thor: Ragnarok. The poster features Cate Blanchett's goddess of death staring down the viewer, as Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and his allies stand, ready for battle, below. You can view the new poster at the bottom of this article.
The dangerous Hela will be released in Thor: Ragnarok thanks to some lax rule on Asgard, courtesy of Thor's brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who has been pretending to be their missing father Odin (Anthony Hopkins). Hela unleashes chaos on Asgard, destroying Thor's hammer and banishing him to the desolate planet of Sakaar in the process.
There, he is captured by the warrior Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), who brings him to the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), a nefarious ruler who forces a short-haired version of the character into gladiatorial contests against his former "friend from work" the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Eventually, Thor and the Hulk escape, going on an intergalactic adventure to take down Hela. (They'll also get some help from Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, in one of the film's few stops on earth.)
The international poster is just as colorful and fun as the U.S. posters, although it trades the retro vibe of the San Diego Comic-Con art for a more terrifying stare down courtesy of Hela. Both show off a fun, rock-and-roll feel for the film, though, which fits with director Taika Waititi's comments that the film will "dismantle and destroy" old elements of the franchise so that they can be rebuilt from the ground up.
Thor: Ragnarok, one of many upcoming superhero films that will blow you away, hits theaters on Nov. 3.
