The Sons Of Anarchy Character You Are Based On Your Zodiac Sign

"Sons of Anarchy" was an intense, wildly popular crime drama on FX following the rise and fall of the Sons of Anarchy, a motorcycle club based out of Charming, California, a fictional small town in the San Joaquin Valley. Over seven seasons, we watched Jax Teller, the story's flawed but lovable protagonist, try to make SAMCRO legitimate as he struggled with his conscience and the pressures of being in a leadership position within the club. This series took viewers into a world of morally gray characters who did awful things but also exhibited admirable qualities. It was a rare glimpse into a life of crime that didn't always villainize these flawed characters.

All the central characters in "Sons of Anarchy" have distinct personalities that the series explored in depth as the seasons progressed. Some characters evolved, while others regressed to their baser instincts. One aspect of this series that was so excellent was how it portrayed the characters holistically, showing their good and bad qualities. Like people, each zodiac sign has both positive and challenging personality traits, just like the characters in this fascinating series. Read on if you want to discover which "Sons of Anarchy" character you are based on your zodiac sign.

Aries: Happy Lowman (March 21—April 19)

Happy Lowman actually enjoys killing and is a sergeant-at-arms for SAMCRO and the Sons of Anarchy Nomad Charter during the series. He is often the enforcer and hired hitman for kills SOA wants to be kept quiet. What's so fascinating about Happy is that despite his sociopathic tendencies, he is a loyal friend, affectionate dog owner (he even named his dog after Opie) and cheerful person. Courageous and determined, Happy is a quintessential representation of Aries, a cardinal fire sign ruled by Mars.

If you are familiar with Greco-Roman mythology, you might remember Mars is the god of war. Happy certainly embodies the spirit of battle, as Mars does. Like other fire signs, Aries is energetic, dynamic, and temperamental, just like Happy. Cardinal signs are action-oriented, making them a bit self-centered. Sometimes they are simply too focused on making things happen. We can see this in Happy. He is always jumping into a situation, volunteering to help SOA attain their goals, sometimes creating more troubles down the road.

Aries are known for being impatient, impulsive, and short-tempered. We see these traits in Happy as well. But their bravery accompanies these negative traits associated with Aries. Like Aries, Happy is unafraid of taking risks. Aries value their freedom, wanting relationships and friendships that give them room to breathe. We see this when, for a time, Happy goes Nomad to spend more time with his ailing mother in Bakersfield. This decision also highlights the fact that, despite disliking restrictions, Aries will take on family obligations when they are needed.

Taurus: Nero Padilla (April 20—May 20)

Taurus is a fixed earth sign ruled by Venus. Patient, practical, devoted, and stable, a Taurus is someone you can count on. Nero Padilla enters the storyline in Season 5 of "Sons of Anarchy" when he becomes Gemma's love interest after she and Clay become estranged. True to the character of Taurus, Nero is a stabilizing influence for Gemma, while he also quickly becomes a confidant and business partner to Jax.

Nero was once the founder of a street gang, but after spending most of his 30s in jail, he turned his life around. Although he still lives on the fringes of society, Nero makes his money running an escort business, Diosa. Considering Taurus is ruled by Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, sex work is a natural realm for this sign. Due to their fixed modality, Taurus might be stubborn and uncompromising, but they are also nurturing, devoted, and dependable, just like Nero.

Like all earth signs, Taurus is practical and rooted in the material world. We see this in Nero's exit strategy. He is planning for the future, saving money so he can retire, buying property far away from his life of crime. While Taurus can be materialistic, as we see in Nero's love of the finer things in life, they can also be trusted to manage the details of finances. When "Sons of Anarchy" comes to its bloody conclusion, it is Nero that Jax counts on with his estate and getting his children far away from Charming and the SOA.

Gemini: Tig Trager (May 21—June 21)

Tig Trager is one of the weirdest characters in "Sons of Anarchy." When we first meet him in Season 1, he is dark and disturbing, but as the seasons wear on, we see Tig's better qualities rise to the surface of his complex personality. A mutable air sign, ruled by Mercury, Geminis are curious, affectionate, indecisive, and funny, all traits Tig possesses.

Represented by the twins, Geminis are a walking contradiction. We all have both light and dark within us, but for Gemini, this duality is emphasized in their personality. Castor and Pollux, the Dioscuri from Greek Mythology, symbolize the duality of Gemini, and Tig embodies it. At times, he is funny, loyal, and affectionate. At other points, he is dark, disturbing, and sadistic. Ruled by Mercury, Geminis are known for being mischievous. Tig embodies Mercury's role as a trickster god, often creating chaos in the lives of the SOA.

Tig is a sergeant-at-arms for the Sons of Anarchy, often responsible for killing people for the motorcycle club. Mercury is a psychopomp, a god who brings souls to the Underworld. In a symbolic way, Tig performs the same role as Mercury, escorting people to the afterlife. As a mutable sign, Geminis, like Tig, are open-minded and adaptable. As an air sign, Geminis are all about action, motion, and ideas. Geminis are intelligent and perceptive, always noticing when something is bothering those they love, as Tig did in Season 2 when he could tell something was bothering Gemma after she was assaulted.

Cancer: Wendy Case (June 22—July 22)

Cancers are a cardinal water sign ruled by the Moon. Tenacious, loyal, and sympathetic, Cancers are sentimental and intuitive. Like all water signs, Cancers are moody and changeable. Security is important to water signs, manifesting in a focus on family and home in Cancers. Wendy Case is Jax Teller's ex-wife and the biological mother of Abel and caregiver to Thomas after Tara's violent murder. Wendy is a quintessential Cancer. Maternal and loyal, Wendy just keeps coming back, fighting for a place in her son's life despite the mistakes she made while she was pregnant.

As a cardinal modality, Cancers are more driven than other water signs. We see this in Wendy's dedication to attaining sobriety and rebuilding her life so she can be a part of Abel's. Cancers are very forgiving, a trait Wendy has in spades. Despite Gemma, Jax, and Tara's poor treatment of Wendy, she keeps coming back, willing to compromise and overlook past transgressions to have her child in her life. Cancers fall in love easily and are known for carrying a torch for a lost love, as Wendy does with Jax throughout the series.

Leo: Jax Teller (July 23—August 22)

Dynamic, passionate, and temperamental, Jax Teller is the epitome of a Leo, represented by the regal Lion. A fixed fire sign ruled by the sun, Leos are self-confident, charismatic, and hard to resist. Jax uses his charisma and influence to unite different groups to achieve common goals routinely throughout "Sons of Anarchy," always coming up with creative solutions for the problems SAMCRO find themselves in.

Like the Lion, Jax is brave, loyal, and dedicated to those he loves, but at times he struggles with his divided loyalties. Despite their generous and dependable nature, Leos can be arrogant, stubborn, and controlling, qualities linked to their fixed modality. We see these qualities emerge in Jax as the seasons wear on and he loses his way. Leos can be dramatic and passionate, two traits linked to Leo's fire element

Leos have high standards for themselves and others, feeling wounded when people they trust fail to live up to these standards. We see this when Jax discovers his mom, Gemma, killed his wife, Tara. Leo's are also loyal friends, as we witness with the relationship between Opie and Jax. After Opie's death, Jax is never the same, becoming more emotional and less calculating. Leos can be vindictive when you hurt their feelings, as we see when Jax acts out, sleeping with other people when he feels ignored or unappreciated by Tara. Jax has a big heart and can be ferocious when protecting his club. The similarities between him and the noble Lion are unmistakable.

Virgo: Tara Knowles (August 23—September 22)

Virgos are a mutable earth sign with a reputation for being methodical perfectionists. Tara Knowles is absolutely a Virgo. Ruled by Mercury, Virgos are intelligent, analytical humanitarians. Although Virgos are often talented with language, their desire to help others can easily lead them into a career in healthcare, becoming doctors, as Tara did. There is no mistake that the staff wrapped in snakes Mercury carries is the symbol for pharmacies and the World Health Organization

While Virgos are known for their practicality, that doesn't mean they are immune to love, although they do resist it. Virgos like being in charge, and the emotional chaos love can bring is challenging for them. Jax accuses Tara of always running away when things get hard. Running away is an easy way to take control back, something Virgos want to maintain in their lives. But once a Virgo loves you, they will be incredibly loyal. Like other earth signs, Virgos are hard-working people you can depend on.

Virgos often attract people who are messy. Jax, with his outlaw life, is very messy. As surprising as the pairing might seem, Tara and Jax actually make perfect sense. Someone like Tara, who wants to help and heal people, is bound to fall for someone who needs saving. Virgo has a mutable modality, making this sign more flexible than other earth signs. The dichotomy of being a mutable earth sign means Virgos can often surprise you. While Tara might seem overly critical, a common trait of Virgo, her intentions are pure.

Libra: Juice Ortiz (September 22—October 23)

In the first few seasons of "Sons of Anarchy," Juice Ortiz is easily one of the most likable characters in the series. He is the intelligence officer for the club, a computer nerd with a mohawk. Juice is hard to pin down and figure out, hinting at his Libra nature. Libras are a cardinal air sign ruled by Venus. Like all air signs, Libras are intelligent, proved by Juice's talents as a hacker. But like other air signs, sometimes Libras can seem a little distracted or disorganized despite their intellectual prowess. Juice is known for making mistakes and is often teased by the club for his air-head ways.

Libras are compassionate people who value harmony. Juice tries to get along with everyone, avoiding confrontation when possible. Libras don't like to be alone; Juice acknowledges this when he talks to Wendy and Gemma about his fear of being alone. Like all Libras, Juice worries a little too much about what others think, leading him to be manipulated and used — first by law enforcement and later by Gemma. Juice's fear of abandonment and concerns about what others think about him directly leads to all his poor choices, resulting in his ex-communication from SAMCRO and his death.

Scorpio: Gemma Teller Morrow (October 23—November 21)

Gemma Teller Morrow from "Sons of Anarchy" is a force to be reckoned with. She is resourceful, powerful, and brave — traits that describe Scorpio to a T. Gemma, like Scorpio, is also suspicious, manipulative, and violent, as we see in how she uses and threatens both Tara and Wendy. She manipulates and guides SAMCRO, hiding behind her loyalty and brutal honesty. But just because Gemma will beat you over the head with hard truths doesn't mean she can't keep a secret or two.

Scorpio is a fixed water sign with two ruling planets, making this sign mysterious, complex, and fearless. Scorpio's ancient ruler is Mars, the god of war. We can see this combative spirit manifest in Gemma's no BS persona. She has access to her aggression, and she isn't afraid of using it. Scorpio's modern ruler is Pluto, with links to death and destruction. While Gemma might be loyal to the club and a loving mother, she is a perfect example of how positive traits like loyalty taken to the extreme can be hazardous.

While we don't buy into the common misrepresentation of Scorpios as evil, Gemma certainly is the poison represented by the Scorpion. Even good qualities in overabundance can become destructive. Loyalty turns into possessiveness. Honesty turns to verbal abuse. Fearlessness can turn to recklessness. Tenacity becomes — obsession. Scorpios are water signs with tender souls protected by a tough exterior. As many good qualities as Gemma has, she ultimately is destroyed by her suspicions and her proclivity toward violence.

Sagittarius: Chibs Telford (November 22—December 21)

Chibs Telford is a bit of a mystery in "Sons of Anarchy." It takes a while to discover how this Scotsman became a member of SAMCRO. Impatient, idealistic, and restless, the Sagittarius is the explorer of the zodiac. In Season 2, we learn that Chibs, although born in Scotland, grew up in Belfast, becoming involved in the IRA. He is SAMCRO's connection to the IRA and their gun-running business. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign. Mutable signs are comfortable with change. In fact, they need it, and we can see this in Chibs.

Mutable signs are adaptable. Chibs accepts the changes Jax wants to make in the club with relative ease, unlike some of the other members, who are more set in their ways. Chibs acts as a medic for SOA because he was once a medic in the military. But this role as a healer is also connected to the sign of Sagittarius. Sagittarians are linked to Chiron, the wounded healer from Greek mythology.

Capricorn: Clay Morrow (December 22—January 19)

Disciplined, strategic, and responsible, Capricorn likes being the boss — just like Clay Morrow. Clay almost always keeps his emotions in check and doesn't let his feelings cloud his decisions. Does this mean Clay is heartless? No, but he certainly doesn't let his feelings get in the way of success, a trait common to Capricorns. We see Clay's detached strategic thinking when he decides to have Opie killed in Season 1, believing Opie to be working with law enforcement.

Capricorn is a cardinal earth sign that can be controlling and demands respect — characteristics you would expect from a club president or a CEO. Cardinal signs are drawn to positions of authority and power because it gives them the ability to influence others. You can count on a Capricorn to be reliable and dependable, but you don't want to get on their bad side, and we see this with Clay. He doesn't like his authority to be questioned, and he doesn't adapt very well to losing his leadership role when Jax becomes president of the club.

Much of this stubborn resistance to change comes from being an earth sign. Earth signs are known for being grounded, hard-working, and concerned with material possessions. Clay, despite all of his negative traits and poor decisions, is all of these things. Simply put, he is solid and unmovable. The tension between Clay and Jax is the incompatibility of fire and earth

Aquarius: Bobby Munson (January 20–February 18)

Aquarians are known for being original, independent thinkers and revolutionaries. Bobby Munson in "Sons of Anarchy" is one of a kind character. He's a bit rough, but also intelligent and observant, two traits Aquarius is known for. Aquarius is a fixed air sign with two ruling planets. Bobby's side gig as an Elvis performer certainly paints him as a quirky character who, despite being a founding member of the club, still does his own thing.

As a fixed sign, Bobby initially resists Jax's desires to move the SOA in a more legitimate and legal direction, telling Jax to work things out with Clay. Fixed signs are loyal and dependable, but also resistant to change, manifesting as stubbornness and an unwillingness to admit they are wrong. But, air signs are also known for being intelligent and appreciating logic, leading Bobby to adapt despite his early reservations. The Sons of Anarchy were founded on a belief in personal freedom, and we have our suspicions that Jax's deceased father, John Teller, was also an Aquarius.

Pisces: Opie Winston (February 19—March 20)

Opie Winston was a tragic figure in "Sons of Anarchy." When the series premiered, Opie was fresh out of a five-year stint in prison and trying to earn straight for his wife Donna. After Donna's tragic death, Opie recommits himself to the club because it is the family he still has. Like Pisces, Opie is compassionate, intuitive, and sensitive. Despite his role as an incendiary expert in the club, Opie has the aura of a sensitive soul, trapped in a life he wasn't made for. Pisces is a mutable water sign with two ruling planets. Pisces are known for their sensitivity, but they are also known for their escapism.

Opie certainly exhibits an unwillingness to face unpleasant truths, as he does when ignoring the evidence SOA might be responsible for Donna's death, and to a lesser degree, when he spontaneously marries Lyla. Like many Pisces, Opie is addicted to misery. Pisces just wants to feel good again, rather than carrying around this cloud of unhappiness. Pisces are often too trusting — as Opie is when he believes Clay was incapable of ordering the hit that accidentally killed Donna. Another defining characteristic of Pisces is their willingness to sacrifice themselves for those they love, as Opie did when he died in prison.
