MTV Cribs To Return As Snapchat Series On Saturday

Get ready to see some new cribs. Variety reports that MTV is bringing back their popular 2000s reality show Cribs as a new Snapchat series, set to launch on June 3.

The first episode will feature DJ Steve Aoki, who will give viewers a private tour of his Las Vegas house, complete with the deepest pool in the city. Some of the other stars who will appear include pro skateboarder Nyjah Huston and Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller, both of whom teased their pads in the show's trailer, which you can watch above. The shows are produced for Snapchat, meaning that they're all filmed vertically, as the platform dictates, and each run for three to five minutes. The videos will be available to watch on MTV's Snapchat Discover page for 48 hours.

The network first announced plans to revive Cribs on Snapchat last April, but the planned launch never happened. "[Snapchat] could be the first place that [teens] ever encounter MTV, so it's important to us to have premium channels," said Thomas Fishman, senior vice president of growth and engagement at MTV Digital. (via Mashable) "As an iconic franchise, we have a deep loyalty. We wanted to launch it as soon as we could but we wanted to make sure that we checked all the boxes."

MTV, which recently began airing a revival of Fear Factor hosted by Ludacris, will also bring Girl Code to Snapchat starting on July 27. Carly Aquilino and Matteo Lan will lead the returning cast. The network also announced Friday that they will be bringing back MTV Beach House, now hosted by Girl Code's Nessa, Teen Wolf's Cody Christian and Wild 'n Out's Chico Bean. The reboot will premiere on June 8 via on-air interstitials.
