Lynda Carter Reviews Wonder Woman

Critics and fans are loving Wonder Woman so far, and now the original Diana Prince, Lynda Carter, has thrown in her own two cents about new film adaptation. Likely to the excitement of Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, Carter absolutely adores the movie. 

Carter attended the Los Angeles premiere of Wonder Woman on May 26. There, she met Gadot, the new face of Diana Prince of Themyscira. After the red carpet event and the star-studded showing, Carter headed to social media to praise the film and Gadot's performance as the titular superhero. 

"What a wonderful movie!" Carter wrote in a post on Twitter. "Gal Gadot is fabulous as Wonder Woman. I had so much fun at the premiere."

Carter portrayed Diana Prince on the Wonder Woman (later known as The New Adventures of Wonder Woman) television series from 1975 to 1979. The show aired on ABC under its original title in its first season, then nabbed a new name and network on CBS thereafter. Carter remained the defining onscreen version of Wonder Woman until 2016, when Gadot stepped into the role (and donned the signature rope and sheild) in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, 2017's Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis, Saïd Taghmaoui, Ewen Bremner and David Thewlis. The film works from a script written by DC Comics executive Geoff Johns and Young Avengers scribe Allan Heinberg.

Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that's raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.

Here's the film's full synopsis: "Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers... and her true destiny."
