The Variant Lokis All Got Amazing New Character Posters

How many Loki variants does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop? The world may never know. However, we are learning, bit by bit, how many Loki variants it takes to topple the Time Variance Authority and uncover the mystery at the end of time now that we're rounding the corner on all six episodes of the Disney+ series "Loki."

First, we knew about the Loki (Tom Hiddleston) variant who escaped at the alternate timeline ending of "The Avengers" during the time heist in "Avengers: Endgame," and his willingness to at least try to escape the clutches of Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) and the TVA. Then, we met the far more successful Loki variant Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), who'd been hiding out in different apocalypses as she slowly dismantled the TVA, piece by piece.

But while Hiddleston's Loki and Di Martino's Sylvie make a formidable team (and a weirdly romantic one, too), they've been able to take the whole "destroy the TVA" only so far — at least until they met up with a whole slew of new Loki variants in the Void.

Prior to this moment, only Hiddleston and Di Martino's Lokis had dedicated "Loki" posters. But now that Classic Loki (Richard E. Grant), Kid Loki (Jack Veal), Boastful Loki (Deobia Oparei), and, of course, Gator Loki have played their important roles, it seems only right that they get their own posters too. And now, they have.

Is there a secret reason for all these new Loki variant posters?

Ahead of the "Loki" finale, set to premiere on July 14, the Disney+ Twitter account tweeted out five new posters featuring Loki variants. Not only do fans get Classic, Kid, Boastful, and Gator Lokis, but they also get a poster for the Loki they wind up seeing less of than most might've guessed based on the show's trailers: President Loki.

Are these posters anything more than a little well-deserved respect for the Lokis who died to defeat Alioth, who killed Thor, who bit off someone's hand, or who got their hand bitten off? The answer to that is unclear. Are the many minute hands on the clock faces behind these Loki variants meaningful since they differ from poster to poster? We don't know the answer to that question either.

However, as both the OG Loki variant and Sylvie walk into the unknown stronghold across the edge of time, it's not out of the realm of possibility that some of these other Lokis might turn up one last time. In fact, for all we know, there may be more Lokis still to come. Heck, someone like Mobius or Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) might be Loki variants as well and just haven't figured it out yet.

We'll find out the fate of the Loki variants when "Loki" airs its sixth and final episode on July 14 on Disney+.
