Watch The First Trailer For Alien: Covenant
Maybe we shouldn't be in such a rush to explore other planets? The first red band trailer for Alien: Covenant has landed, and outer space looks absolutely terrifying.
The movie is a prequel to Ridley Scott's original Alien, and a sequel to 2012's Prometheus. And although we only get a fleeting glimpse of one of the new Xenomorphs (reportedly called ""Neomorphs"), the trailer provides more than enough chills and thrills to hold you over.
Here's the synopsis: "Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with Alien: Covenant, a new chapter in his groundbreaking Alien franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape."
Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender reprise their Prometheus roles, and Fassbender actually plays two androids in the flick. Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, and Billy Crudup are also aboard along with James Franco, who makes a surprise appearance.
Alien: Covenant arrives in theaters May 19, 2017. While our hopes are high, here are a few things that could ruin the movie.
