Why Fans Are Worried About Ahsoka Appearing In The Mandalorian Season 2

Star Wars: The Clone Wars was designed to fill in the blanks between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith with a focus on the relationship between Anakin (voiced by Matt Lanter) and his mentor Obi-Wan (James Arnold Taylor). However, it was a plucky Padawan by the name of Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) that ended up becoming the fan favorite. She starts off as Anakin's apprentice before becoming a powerful Jedi in her own right in successor series Star Wars Rebels. Now, she's about to be introduced to an even wider audience when she appears for the first time in a live-action Star Wars property courtesy of The Mandalorian

Rosario Dawson will portray the Jedi in the role she's been itching to play for years now. While there are many reasons to be excited that Ahsoka gets a chance to have more of her story told, some fans are nervous about her appearance. While it'd undoubtedly be awesome to see her taking out Stormtroopers alongside Mando and Baby Yoda (sorry, "The Child"), there's the very real threat that Ahsoka could meet her doom at some point in The Mandalorian season 2. Within Star Wars canon, there's still no solid explanation for what happens to Ahsoka between Rebels and The Last Jedi, so her fate remains open for Jon Favreau to interpret.

Fans are worried Ahsoka could die on The Mandalorian

Redditor u/AdamantiumLive started a thread depicting a meme about their worry Ahsoka could die at some point on The Mandalorian. Even if she doesn't perish in season 2, the fact she's a part of the storyline means she could meet her end at some point later in the series. It's worth remembering she's being played by Rosario Dawson, a talented and famous actress. It would be a little weird to bring her on only to kill her character so suddenly. However, that rationale hasn't done much to assuage some fans' fears.

Some of the comments further along in the thread include such pleas of desperation like, "Why would you do this" and "DON'T YOU PUT THAT EVIL ON US!!!" Of course, there are some fans who wouldn't necessarily mind if Ahsoka dies at some point on The Mandalorian, provided it's a worthy death for such a beloved character. Redditor u/Ghiren has enough faith regardless of what happens, stating, "From what the show has done so far, I trust them to handle it right. If she goes out, Favreau and Faloni are good enough directors that she'll go out like a boss."

While there are many directions the show can take with Ahsoka, some fans are confident she's not going to die ... at least not yet. Redditor u/Kerouac_43 mentioned as much, "I don't think she will die in Mando. It will probably be in a Rebels sequel (if it happens) or her own show or something similar." The idea of her spinning off into her own series after appearing on The Mandalorian is certainly an enticing one. Plus, that would definitely provide a better venue for showing her final years.

It's important to note that cartoon voice actor Ashley Eckstein provided the voice for Ahsoka in The Rise of Skywalker, in the scene when Rey hears the voices of previous Jedi while taking on Emperor Palpatine. Unfortunately, that implies the character does in fact die at some point between The Mandalorian and The Rise of Skywalker. We'll just have to wait to discover her ultimate fate.
