First, there was "WandaVision." Then, there was "Agatha All Along." Now, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's strangest small screen story continues with "VisionQuest" — and from the looks of it, this particular narrative is once again leaving critics stunned. Watch Looper's video above to find out what they're saying about the series.

While Looper's own "VisionQuest" review found the Marvel spin-off lazy and lacking creative vision, other critics have been kinder to the show. At the time of writing, the show has a very solid 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which makes its Tomatometer score fresher than the 84% of "Agatha All Along" — though it still has some way to go if it wants to beat the 92% score of the stellar "WandaVision." In other words, it looks like the MCU has another critical darling on its hands, and it will be interesting to see whether fans' opinions reflect the show's critical approval.

VisionQuest seems destined to become the latest delightfully strange MCU show

"WandaVision" tells the story of a grief-stricken Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) creating a sitcom-themed fairytale land where her beloved Vision (Paul Bettany) is still alive. Unfortunately, she does this in the real town of Westview, trapping its residents in a hellish marionette existence. "Agatha All Along" expands on this by sending the villainous witch Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) gathering a coven for a mission to regain the powers Wanda took from her.

Now, "VisionQuest" focuses on the one remaining major player from the show: the white-colored, rebooted version of the original Vision, who lacks the experience and emotional wherewithal he once had. As the first "VisionQuest" trailer showed, his attempts to understand his own history involve a virtual space where Vision interacts with fellow artificial intelligences old and new. These include Ultron (James Spader) and an incarnation of J.A.R.V.I.S. who resembles the Stark family butler Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy).

We have our predictions for how "VisionQuest" will unfold, but if it's anything like its predecessors, the only thing audiences should expect is the unexpected. To find out precisely what critics are saying about the show, be sure to watch Looper's video above.
