American Horror Story Season 6 Setting Unveiled

Spoilers for American Horror Story season 6

Perhaps the biggest mystery about each new season of American Horror Story is where it will be set. Although Ryan Murphy has yet to reveal almost any details about Season 6, TMZ did it for him. We're sure he's thrilled.

Production is taking place in a California forest, but sources say the setting will be connected to the colonial Roanoke mystery, which took place off the coast of North Carolina. The photos definitely support that theme, and the clincher is the word "Croatoan" carved into a tree.

If you're not caught up on your American history, a group of colonists vanished from an encampment on Roanoke Island around 1590. The Lost Colony, as it came to be called, was led by an Englishman named John White. When White returned from a trip back to England, all 100 colonists had disappeared. Only the "Croatoan" carving remained.

TMZ also reports that Angela Bassett and Kathy Bates have both shot scenes, and Cuba Gooding Jr. is also believed to be on the cast. Check out the new photos, and take a look back at the show's best on-screen transformations.
