Never Have I Ever: How Many Episodes Are In Season 4?

Shortly after the debut of Season 3 on Netflix in August of 2022, "Never Have I Ever" creator Mindy Kaling confirmed the series is ending after its fourth season. Then, in May 2023, Netflix released its first trailer for "Never Have I Ever" Season 4 less than a month out from its premiere.

The show's first season follows high school sophomore Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) through a multitude of teenage milestones naturally heightened for the sake of TV drama. Now, in Season 4, Devi is kicking off her senior year which means she's closer than ever to fulfilling her dream of attending an Ivy League college. As always, however, her varying degrees of entanglement with a few of the boys at her school is taking up a lot of her mental real estate all the while.

Fans of "Never Have I Ever" looking forward to the series' final run can rest assured that, as detailed in a blog post about its first trailer on the official Netflix blog, Season 4 will consist of 10 episodes in total, following the precedent set by each of the three seasons before it.

Devi learning self-acceptance will be a major focus of Season 4

Netflix's blog post confirming "Never Have I Ever" Season 4's episode count is likewise interspersed with quotes from some of the talent behind the show that provide some key insight into just what to expect out of the upcoming season.

Mindy Kaling's co-creator Lang Fisher, for example, emphasized that Devi developing a sense of self-worth untethered to the college she attends and which boys like her is pivotal to her forthcoming character arc. "I think the main thing she needs to learn on our show is to love herself just as she is, with or without a boyfriend, with or without a fancy college," Fisher said. "And that she's enough."

Meanwhile, now that Devi's older crush Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet) is attending college and no longer so prominently in her life, her range of love interests will be comparatively simpler than in Season 3. "I think everything gets kind of tumbled upside down when they become seniors," Fisher said. "The structure you've seen for the first three seasons shifts and so therefore the love triangle can get reignited again."

Just how, exactly, this all plays out will become apparent when all 10 episodes of "Never Have I Ever" Season 4 premiere to Netflix on June 8.
