Impractical Jokers S10's Evil Dead Episode Features A Callback To The Jokers' Movie

Contains spoilers for "Impractical Jokers" Season 10 Episode 9, "Bruce Campbell"

"Impractical Jokers" Season 10 Episode 8 featured a punishment that left a bad taste in fans' mouths, but Episode 9 should see no such complaints — especially if you're a fan of "The Evil Dead" franchise. As horror legend Bruce Campbell turns up as the guest star, the episode features a particularly gory punishment: Brian "Q" Quinn has to dress up as Campbell's "Evil Dead" character Ash Campbell as the star himself gives the Impractical Joker a taste of what it takes to play the lead in "The Evil Dead."

As Q does his best Ash impression and Campbell makes sure that the experience is adequately gory, the viewer's eye is drawn to the cool Ford Crown Victoria that gets more than its share of the splatter. If you thought that the car seems a bit familiar, you're absolutely correct, because it also featured in an earlier "Impractical Jokers" project. "The car we use in the @EvilDead punishment on tonight's episode is the very same 1989 Crown Vic we drive in the Impractical Jokers movie," Q confirmed on Twitter. "I believe this is its first appearance in the actual show!"

The Ford Crown Victoria makes its glorious return

In many ways, it's incredibly appropriate that the Ford Crown Victoria that featured so prominently in the aforementioned "Impractical Jokers: The Movie" makes its comeback — or rather, "Impractical Jokers" TV debut — in this particular episode. As Q himself proudly announced in his tweet about the Crown Vic's appearance, "It's my version of Ash's Delta 88."

The car Q is referring to is Ash Williams' yellow (and fairly often blood-stained) 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale, a battered but extremely cool car that's nearly as omnipresent in "The Evil Dead" franchise as Ash himself. The Oldsmobile acquires a series of upgrades over the course of Ash's adventures — the dangerous, steam-powered Deathcoaster in "Army of Darkness" perhaps the most notorious of them all.

As Sal Vulcano has revealed on Instagram, the "Impractical Jokers" Crown Victoria has been with Q ever since the movie, so the comparison with Ash's trusty Oldsmobile is reasonably apt — and also explains why this particular car was present in the Bruce Campbell episode.
